Delicious in Dungeon: Episode 21 FULL LENGTH Reaction!

*CANARY IN THE DUNGEON HEADPHONE WARNINGS*

Ooohhh, my voice was very Falin-like this episode but it all worked out as I got my wish of seeing Kabru again, only...backstory tease?! ELVES?! MORE QUESTIONS?! And that's just half the episode.

The other half, I'm concerned about this "teleportation" Laios and his crew has made to a cursed portion of the dungeon...I am getting cult vibes and I'm not sure what to do with it!

KABRU AND THE SEVEN ELVES! AHAHA I live! Thank you so much for the kind words - I really loved the makeup for this cosplay! I really LOVE cosplay and the opportunity to challenge myself - Shadow is still one of my favorites, but JJK is such a fun time to practice cosplay, I can’t wait for season 3 to be back - THANK YOU for commissioning this - it really has let me buy one of my favorite wigs now! And I had so much fun with this, indeed! I am scared for the monsters as well! HANGE! Oh wow, Laios and Hange would be a DEADLY combination! Also, I was so seeing the Madoka connection with Marcille’s dress too! Yeah, everyone gets to shine, or in Chilchuck’s case, get drunk! I definitely recommend Land of the Lustrous!! Anime AND Manga! And yes, I am excited that we only have to wait until November for the second season - I will be SALIVATING for it! Thank you for the comment and kind words - I cannot wait to see what the rest of this season will give us!! <3

Episode 21 - The Story of Kabru and the Seven Elves I am counting that fairy as at least part-elf (no clue, just making it work!). Your KFC Falin is awesome! 🥇 The blood tear makeup came out great, even little sparkles in there too, the whole thing just comes together perfectly! I really wasn't sure who you'd pick initially, though I should have known - your Shadow from SK8, and the various JJK are all so ambitious and wild! Thanks for taking on the commission challenge and having fun with it! It kills me seeing Laios this episode, he's in heaven at that Golden Castle village. And I'm scared for the monsters. Laios is giving off a little too much Franken Stein / Hange Zoë energy over there! Monsters, knowledge, experiments! For science! And Marcille's space dress - they must have the same seamstress as Ultimate Madoka does! And good for Senshi too, everyone gets to shine! I loved the picky eater "so WHAT do you eat" "exactly" comeback! I will definitely be passing that one on. Land of the Lustrous might need to bump up a bit on the list with that recommendation this discussion. Only three left this season, wish they would never end! I feel like if One Piece could make 1000 episodes, why couldn't we have gotten at least 100 with this! But who knows what the future holds, not me!

Fun fact, the cleaners actually did build the face of the Winged Lion on Kensuke's sword guard. During episode 16, Laios notices them and thinks they are trying to eat Kensuke. Shuro interrupts Laios before he can show Kensuke to Kabru though. At some point the cleaners must've finished building it without Laios knowing because during episode 17 we see a close up of it: Right when Laios first steels his resolve to draw Kensuke against Falin. In that moment the instrumentation fades out and the choir kicks in, truly giving it a feeling like "prophecy is being fulfilled before our eyes" or something like that. Anyway, with the lore on the Winged Lion we learn this episode, along with previous speculation/information about Kensuke and dungeon cleaners I have some ongoing theories/random observations about how they could be connected, read if you wish as long as mods say it's ok: --- In episode 3, Laios speculates about the ecology of living armor, he says: "Maybe when they're newborns and juveniles, they're very small, and no one suspects them to be Living Armor. They probably form shells as they grow. ..." It seems to me like dungeon cleaners are actually juvenile living armor, and the ability of dungeon cleaners to perfectly repair the dungeon is just the same ability that living armor uses to build full suits of armor and swords. If that is the case, then living armor/dungeon cleaners are the only creatures we've seen that seem directly connected to the Winged Lion and not the Lunatic Magician. They build swords with wing decorations that the living paintings recognized as being of the knights of the golden kingdom, and they repair the dungeon which has the Winged Lion motif everywhere. Beyond that my theorizing mostly starts to fall apart... There are some random observations I've noticed about the winged lion imagery: The rooms that our party has rested in several times so far often had a lion fountains in them for water. The motif in the room that had the living armor had a broken wing when Laios first died there, but when he returns in the present day it has since been repaired. According to Chilchuck, the positions and orientations of the lion statues on the fifth level stay constant while everything else shifts. We've also seen a lion-mouth fire trap (that we cooked with). I'm not really sure what to make of some of these. Maybe the room with the living armor was a test that Laios ended up passing by taking Kensuke, so the Winged Lion chooses him to fulfill this prophecy. Other than that... I don't remember what the context was, but I think there's some winged lion imagery in christian mythology? Might be too far of a reach though.
