I was NOT ready for the cuteness of our "mushroom" yokai this week, or how much this story would connect so much of what we've seen with Natsume so far! I was really in love with this little episode!
Excuse my voice as I sound much softer this week from it going out! Hopefully, it's back up to snuff next week as we get closer to the season finale!

Thank you so much!! CRITICAL HIT is always accurate with Natsume’s Book of Friends! Natsume doing the “holds gently” pose is adorable! Definitely a yokai contender for cuteness! I appreciate this series makes his healing journey a long one because it’s more realistic! And yes, it’s interesting for Shuon apologizing for kindness because they think it’s a burden in the long run…interesting indeed! And Madara is SO interesting! And YES, early!Madara would not have had a care for the little mushroom yokai…Natsume’s influence has affected himmmmmmm, not that he’d admit it! My defenses are so weak. 😆 Love him being coined ‘dumpling-head’! 😆 And the way Natsume cradled him so sweetly. The discussion around Natsume’s tendency to assume the worst, or come to the emotionally negative conclusions, was excellent. I am in agreement that a fair amount of his ‘othering’ at this point is self-imposed. The why is understandable and healing is a very long journey, but yeah. The conversation between Shuon and Mitsuzara was so interesting – Shuon apologising for his kindness. I also found Madara’s behaviour really curious in this ep. Agree that he has grown so much over the seasons. In that moment when Madara prevented Mitsuzara from confessing – I’m wondering what the balance was in terms of doing it to protect Natsume’s feelings vs protecting Mitsuzara’s ‘reputation,’ in a sense. Early!Madara would not have cared about either. And now I think he cared a bit about the yokai, too. 🥰 Excellent to hear about how well your team did - congratulations! Looking forward to next week! 💙
