I can't believe we have to wait MONTHS for the final volumes but WHAT a send off this was for the hiatus! It did NOT go as planned, but in the best way! Plants vs. Plants, Legato backstory, Vash channeling Wolfwood?!
Everything is escalating to the final two volumes and in Nightow we trust, eh?

Thank you so much! I was really amazed by the focus on Knives and Vash and it was so fun to see everyone duking it out and YES - "Peace and Love" on the shirt! Dark haired Vash is just insane in contrast to all-white Knives! And seriously....LIVIO!!! Hahaha, I've definitely climbed aboard the train! Seriously, though, that collage of everyone and it ending with Wolfwood? STOP. I do like Stampede a lot as a great balance compared to Maximum and the 98 version! Stampede Knives is definitely the most "theatrical melancholy" haha!! Those lines are SO GOOD in this volume! And that description of Knives is SPOT. ON. I could not say it better myself! Thank you for the comment and kind words - I can't believe we only have two volumes left!! WILD - but at least we get a little hiatus and then it's closer to Stargaze!!!

I thought similarly that the volume would focus on the side-battles and was surprised how much of it was the central Vash vs Knives conflict+backstory, as well. Also the t-shirt fits the volume so well! π Various moments I loved: Dark haired!Vash and just the consistent contrasting of Vash and Knives bathed in darkness and light. Stampede!Livioooo was enough all on his own! π But Iβm glad youβre finally fully onboard the Livio train β the darlings always come around. π₯° That 4-page (?) compilation of everyone and the kitchen sink (cat), that should be the official Trigun quiz. I did pretty badly on it. π I adore that the loss of Wolfwood and the care received by Rem are the two most important things to Vash β in the way that that page is presented. So far I think Stampede is still my favourite version in terms of the pacing of introducing the central Vash vs Knives conflict and the information we get about them early on. It gives Stampede!Knives an inherent melancholy within the story that I really enjoy. Two favourites lines: βYouβre ignorant and yet you arrogantly pull the trigger.β and βYou no longer have to be burned by a reality that is too painful.β I think TM does an excellent job in showing TM!Knives as the would-be-revolutionary who turns into just another despot, fundamentally he is not a liberator but a malignant narcissist with messianic delusions in TM. This has been another excellent set of reactions β canβt believe itβs already time for another hiatus. π₯Ί But looking forward to the next volumes will make the wait for Stargaze easier.
