WORD OF HONOR: Episode 18 FULL LENGTH Reaction!

Okay, I could see that about episode 13! I agree that each of the “actual” cut sleeve moments are definitely indicative of them admitting feelings about each other! The Flirting is SOOO good in this! I agree 100% about the villain because they hate themselves trope - that’s why I wanted to give him more of a benefit of the doubt at first that he’d be more…complex? That’s not what has ended up happening, which is a little sad, but YES, that “this again, huh?” Is SUCH a feeling! I agree, it’s the one point of this show that I tug my shirt collar at a little, but otherwise, such a great episode! Thank you for the comment!

I don’t think the scene with ZZS and YBY in episode 13 is really a cut sleeve moment. It looked more like YBY was pulling or maybe tearing some kind of fabric from ZZS’s chest? I didn’t come up with this idea myself, just read it in someone else’s comment, but they pointed out that there are two “cut sleeve” moments in the show so far, and each one could symbolize when one of them starts to realize their feelings for the other. WKX cut ZZS’s sleeve back in episode 5, so he had that moment pretty early on. Meanwhile, ZZS cuts WKX’s sleeve in this episode. Of course, he already liked WKX before this, but I think it wasn’t until recently that he really admitted it to himself. Like he tells WKX in this episode, his life feels more valuable with WKX by his side. The flirting is off the charts aaaaaa! I adore how much they act like a little found family, especially with YBY being the resident grumpy grandpa. And I love that the moment they fall, ZZS and WKX immediately understand each other and jump into action to save CL, no questions asked. From there on, they just keep fighting in perfect sync. It was kinda cute how ZZS mistook the zombie hand for WKX and just let it grab him because he thought WKX was scared lol As for Long Xiao, I have mixed feelings. I agree with all your points, it totally makes sense that he acts the way he does, especially given how much resentment he carries toward his father. He was probably discriminated against and suffered a lot in his life, and the one person who was his family, who was so kind to other people, did not help him (from his perspective). It works within the story. But at the same time, the trope of a disabled character becoming a villain because they hate themselves and want to be “cured” is just... exhausting. It leaves a bit of a sour taste for me. I don't mind him being a villain, but the motivation just made me go "ah, this again, what did I expect?". This is probably my least favorite aspect of the show tbh

AHAHAHA, Poor Chengling - he was put through the wringer against all other characters whether he liked it or not! XD Bless him! Thank you for the comment and pointing that out!

I feel the same about the cgi in this episode, like it’s fine, but Ye Bai Ye using all of his focus to dodge a singular chain dangling from the ceiling while Chengling was dodging much more dangerous spikes from the floor is like, what lol
