Batman: Under the Red Hood - Movie Reaction! PATREON COMMISSION!

*HOODED HEADPHONE WARNINGS*

I've grown up around the Batman franchise, but I haven't delved into a lot of the animated movies, so this was a TREAT! Thank you, Nicholas, for commissioning this really fun movie to react to!

NOTE: Because of copyright, there will only be the full length, subtitled reaction you can sync up to - thank you for understanding!

Thank you for watching with me and for all the support!

Batman: Under the Red Hood - Movie Reaction! PATREON COMMISSION!

This is so funny to me. (Last paragraph I mean.) Because he takes these kids in and dresses them up to protect Gotham City from itself. The man will do anything but take therapy. LOL- but I love me some Batman stories. His bad habit of taking kids in needs to stop ✋ 😭 I would love to see more western animated films too. I’m happy to hear you loved this movie too! Yay more fans to gush with haha.

Themes of resistance! I have seen mentions and I thought it was uncanny haha. It was neat to know a good number of people of discord already seen the film. I was pleasantly surprised that RB didn’t know Jason yet. (Sorry for the brutal introduction 😝) So yeah, Bruce’s dogmatic approach to crime and violence does come into question over the years indeed. However, it takes a deeper dissection when it’s his loved ones that come head to head with his approach. I do heavily suggest people to read the Batman's run in the 80s because it gives alot of context to what led to the events in the movie and comics. So why is Jason so angry from his return? We know it’s cause he wasn’t avenged but the way he takes great lengths to give Batman an ultimatum and not kill Joker himself is curious. “You’ll have to shoot me.” … he says to Bruce if he wanted to stop him from shooting the Joker. It’s like he didn’t wanna live in a reality where his father didn’t choose him if he doesn't shoot the Joker. Bruce’s choice is very critical and how he responds tears Jason’s soul. Once again… (in Jason’s eyes) Batman chooses inaction. Because it’s really about “security”, yk something that parents give to their children. Okay I’m spiraling again HAHA. Anywho- If anyone needs any help diving into the lore between them I’m more than willing to give specific comics to head into. I do wanna share neat facts every now and then but nothing big. Just small things like when his birthday is. What his favorite ice cream is. Fav color. That kind of stuff. Additionally, I enjoy pointing out the parallels and peculiar coincidences between the two. The flashback where Jason meets Bruce is bittersweet. It’s sweet cause Bruce lost his parents in crime alley. One day he patrols there and parks the Batmobile only to come back and see it jacked. 😂 The place he lost his loved ones is the very same place he gained a son. Crime alley was no longer a grim reminder of what he had lost anymore. It was now a heartwarming reminder of what he had gained. The bitter part is that he lost Jason in the end as well. The guilt eats away at Bruce once more. Poor Bats. 😭 I also want to mention how much of anything was Jason’s choice. That guy was stripped from so much time. I hope they all make up someday 😔 Thank you and the others for tuning in! Hope you all had your fill with some Batman action. I sure had a lot of fun with you all. ❤️

Loved the reaction and discussion! This was a really fun film to revisit, hadn’t seen it for a long while. “on a trip to the Lazarus pit” really made me laugh 😂 I’ve seen a few of the animated Batman films and am in agreement in terms of really enjoying the pulp-y and theatrical aspects of Batman works. For the live action ones, a good film is always a good film, but there’s something special about the unique campiness of his brooding that I’ve seen more in the animated versions. Themes of resistance?... It’s Batman. 🤣 But I always especially love examination of Batman’s dogmatic approach and how often it comes up against accusations of cowardice, hypocrisy and ineffectiveness. The moral conflict was just delicious in this one! Thank you to Nicolas for another amazing commission! 🥰 Cannot wait for everything coming up in July! ❤️

Please watch more western animation. I know we struggle compared to anime, but this is on par with anything else I've seen. I love this movie, thank you so much for reacting to it! PS. I feel like if too many of your foster kids die violently you shouldn't be allowed to adopt any more kids. Just my hot take.
