DanDaDan Season 2: Episode 2 FULL LENGTH Reaction!

*EYE-OPENING HEADPHONE WARNINGS*

Jiji insanely grew on me this episode, as we learn more about his traumatic experience with his parents and his genuinely kind heart...the problem is when genuinely innocent people...are taken advantage of -- and by a twisted, warped tragic entity?

Welll....it makes for an insanely tense and yell-worthy episode! But now...now things are heating up and a Mongolian Death Worm is i the least of our problems!

DanDaDan Season 2: Episode 2 FULL LENGTH Reaction!

YES - dark places we go indeed - thank goodness Turbo Granny and Okarun can provide some humor and levity to this episode! Yes, that is the question to see how The Evil Eye’s backstory will play out - I guess we’ll have to see! And yes, the souls trapped in the ball - they remind me of the Turbo Granny girl spirits that were there, too! Yeah, she’s come a long way, hasn’t she!? I hope they at least get “freed” from their prison in this. Thank you for the comment!

This show sure doesn't mind going to very dark places, 200 years of parental suicides and child sacrifices? Not the most uplifting base for an arc. I hope the Evil Eye backstory is 100% true, makes it more tragic... well that sounded weird, i mean it gives the story more weight if true. Now the question becomes if this yokai, like Silky, can be redeemed or if it is to far gone. I'm also wondering about the souls that Evil Eye has trapped and uses like a football (yeah, yeah soccer), seems like they need saving from eternal torment, like Silky or the girls that had fused with Turbo Granny (for as much as we might like TG now she wasn't at her very best behaviour at the start of the show).

Yesss, what a wild ride of an episode! I am 100% with you - I was annoyed with Jiji in season 1 but it’s nice to see that he has a soft, kind heart but yeah - maybe a little too trusting and gullible for his own good and definitely a weirdo - but we’re a Motley Crew, so why not?! 😛 He is smarter than he seems but easily manipulated, sadly, it seems! 100% agree on the Silky vs. Evil Eye comparisons! And yeah, I have all the questions about the head of the Kito Family and if she’s immortal/alien, or what not, but it’s a question I hope future episodes answer for us! And yes, Momo is kind-hearted and seems to have learned from the Silky incident as well – too bad this doesn’t have that same result! I was NOT expecting DandDaDan to be as dark as it was with the hanging scene - that was INTENSE! This episode did NOT hold back in that regard! And yesss, Seiko’s callback was so well done - I liked that - and the way they incorporated the soccer that was just shown in the last episode?! So fun! Yes, it gives me a lot of hope to what they’re going to connect in the future! And yeah, it’s wild because I don’t know exactly what we’re going to do! Is it going to be a bittersweet, happy, sad, cruel, dark, or justified ending to this arc!? I guess we’ll find out! Thank you for the comment and kind words!

This episode was so much fun! As someone that was mildly annoyed with Jiji all the way through the previous season, I am really appreciating to get to see a softer and calmer side of him. Yes, he is still very much a weirdo, but he also seems to have a very kind heart that I like, and be smarter than he seems (what with him being able to figure out that the worm reacts to sounds on the house and not voices). I agree, I think that it wasn't until after this Evil Eye saw the Kito family burying this child alive that he snapped and became, well, Evil Eye, and evil spirit; much like we see Acrobatic Silky just wandering around aimlessly after her daughter is ripped away and she loses her life, until she sees Aira and has something else to focus her energy in, and twist her last desires into something darker. Something that always takes me aback, is seeing the Kito's family woman (the one that called that goffy "Jeniffer Lopez" attack) alive all the way back 200 years ago, when the first sacrifice was said to have taken place... is she immortal? Is she an alien? I don't know, but it was startling to see and made me point to my screen open mouthed and surprised. Momo, immediately stopping and trusting Jiji once he tells her that Evil Eye is not like that is such a cool little detail; seems like she learned that yokai can be different after seeing Silky's backstory last season. I love how kind she is, and that she trusts people so much. Dandadan can be silly, but it can be darn dark as well, because Jiji being the one to save his parents who were comitting suicide is freaking dark. Gosh, that must weight on him a ton. I loved the call back to Seiko calling Jiji a genius! This show is doing some really nice callbacks in ways that feel perfectly earned - like Okarun stopping Jiji by playing soccer with him, in that last scene, something that we saw Jiji teaching Okarun just at the end of the previous season - and I can't wait to see how everything connects and moves from here. Honestly, I have no clue how things will end, but I trust that as dark as this show has gotten at times, it has also always being kind; so, yeah, I'm excited xD
