This episode was HILARIOUS! Between Kazuki's "visions" of delinquent Miri in the future, Rei soaking in all the love given from Miri, and a straight up BRAWL between an armed robber and our dudes in...Alpaca and Rabbit outfits...it's literally insanity that only Buddy Daddies can pull off! And I am HERE for it!
This episode is definitely one of my favorites so far for being funny, sweet, and giving some great themes moving forward...that after credits, though. Hm. Probably nothing to worry about.

HAHAHA, my “inner Haiji” – the connection to Prince is brilliant, there – now I just picture Rei chasing a butterfly. And Oooooooh, the meme! I love it – Rei and Kazuki definitely fit it! I absolutely agree with your assessment of Taiga – he definitely seems like he’s looking for attention (possibly to make up for not getting it at home) but he’s not malicious or mean, necessarily. Kazuki’s imagination is SOMETHING, right? To think that he might be that imaginative in…other…areas. ;) But yes, Rei deserves a LOT of praise for tolerating Kazuki and being a constant anchor for him in this episode! Miri is SO perceptive for her age, and I love that she’s making good decisions, even as her goofball dads throw rocks and panic from a distance. And I HEAR YOU! I need the fan fiction, but I know that waiting until the end of the season will be worth it because we’ll be able to have some to pass the time once the show is sadly finished with its season. The character development between our boys and their RIDICULOUSNESS in those costumes fighting cannot be understated. I also LIVE for those soft conversations in the car between the two of them. Just. *chef’s kiss* And ahhh, these episodes just make me smile! I don’t want the angst this series seems to be dishing out, but knowing there’s a chance for a happy ending makes it all the better! That’s so interesting about your country’s law and Anna taking the kids – usually, there’s 1 chaperone to every 15 kids on a trip, but it’s more suggested than mandated. Either way, girl needs a raise! Thank you for the comment – I cannot WAIT to see what happens next with our boys!

Also Kazuki's line with "our genes", he loves Miri so much he forgot she isn't their child. XD You definitely said everything I wanted to say about this episode and I myself don't have anything to add. Just a sweet snd funny episode with a few lessons here and there. I really like this anime because it manages to pass realistic and non-obvious messages in a very calm and nice way. this episode has some hilarious moments but that mix well with the message it wants to pass. I laughed a lot, and i love the complicity and understanding between Rei and Kazuki. I loved Rei's cheeky and proud smile at Miri's words. I also like that in each episode we see or learn something more about them (character or background). I can't wait to see your reactions to the rest of the episodes.

2023-03-05 23:17:08 +0000 UTCI honestly love Rei is actually listening to Kazuki worrying over if they're being too lenient in Miri's upbringing. Also love him pointing out that Kazuki firmly put himself in the mother category. Rei's choice of workout clothing reminded me of Prince from Kazetsuyo. You were letting your inner Haiji pop out with the comments about him needing sweatpants 🤣 The creation of the video game in this anime is amazing. Definitely kudos to the animators and writers. Rei and Kazuki are definitely the Dads in that meme, which is from a Taiwanese drama called Two Fathers that is on my to-be-watched list 😆 Miri hit him with the first blow of "I hate you". Rei followed up with talking about Kazuki trying to get back into Miri's good books through food. And the third hit was a K.O. with Miri choosing Rei to take her to day-care. Love it! But I definitely feel him for the "I'm not old" comments, especially in some fandom spaces... Taiga definitely reminds me of some kids from the classes I've watched over. Like you said he's a troublemaker but not one that intends to be mean with his actions/words. He's a troublemaker that doesn't understand the consequences of his actions. From my experience he gives off a single child vibe where the parent(s) are either not the most involved, or have to work a lot and can't spare enough time to teach their kid right from wrong. Some kids like this also have parents that are uncaring about helping teach their child right from wrong, but the way Taiga acts when Miri corrects/helps him makes me think he doesn't fit into this category. Kazuki's imagination is just too wild 🤣🤣🤣 Didn't think he could top imagining Miri marrying Kyu-chan, but his imagination of Miri and Taiga as teenagers might just top that for the simple reason he's never even met Taiga before and they were only holding hands...on a school trip...when they're FOUR. That's typical kid behaviour that teachers teach them (to have find a partner and hold hands) so as no-one gets lost on school outings. Rei deserves some praise for putting up with Kazuki's antics this entire episode, but more so for remaining standing beneath that tree whilst he has a complete freak-out and all the passers-by are staring and making comment. Miri being perceptive makes me imagine that she'd be like those kids from horror stories that tell their parents about the kid/person in their house that tells them stories at night after Mum/Dad has put them to bed. Which leads to me imagining Kazuki freaking out about ghosts, and Rei considering the best method of evicting said ghost from his apartment 😂 That one little line from Kazuki makes me laugh but also feel all soft. "Our genes" linking all three together is too humorous, but also sweet because they really are a family. Between Miri looking after/out for Taiga and standing up to a stranger basically about stealing being bad, it shows even though she's only four she really does have a good head on her shoulders. I love Rei and Kazuki both being protective over Miri, but also it being *Rei* to actually protect her from a distance 🥰 Rei really looks like he's considering hitting Kazuki with the stone in his hand for that comment about "shifty types". Kazuki, you're not one to talk considering how you look in this moment. And then Rei being all smug about getting Miri's love?? We love us some character development. Also first time we see Kazuki being manhandled by Rei instead of the other way around 😂 "somebody is going to write the most explicit FanFiction" I'm trying to hold off until the entire show airs but seriously these kinds of moments are not helping with that (summary would be Rei and Kazuki discover a new kink after being tightly enclosed in a kid's playhouse) 🤣 Them all sharing food with Miri is entirely too precious 🥺 The fight though?? 🥰 Equal amounts of adorableness and hilarity. The fact both Kazuki and Rei keep in character as Usagi-san and Alpaca-san is so good! The soft conversation between Kazuki and Rei on the drive home though? Really felt like a quiet moment between parents with one having a realisation about their parenting method and their kid, whilst the other gives them some encouragement. Too darn sweet! I *love* Kazuki admitting to being wrong. Miri looks like she doesn't have a clue why her Papa is acting in such a way, but it's a good way to teach her that even adults can be wrong sometimes and should admit to their mistakes when they are 🥺 They gave us so many precious moments in this episode all to end to episode with rain and introduction of a new character that with that smile and head tilt really gives of yandere vibes. Your comment about Anna-chan needing a pay rise for taking all those kids to the zoo on her own did make me realise that such a thing is not done in my country. It's not written law, but any school I've been at (both as a student and a teaching assistant) there's been a requirement of usually around 1 adult to every 15 children. For something like the zoo this ratio is usually different (sometimes 1 adult to every 8 children) because it's a larger area and there's a bigger chance of potential issues cropping up.
