The Millioinaire Detective: Balance Unlimited! Episode 3 EARLY ACCESS Reaction!

**SINEWY HEADPHONE WARNINGS**

This episode was one part flashback, one part DRAMA, and two parts HILARITY! It's rare for a show to successfully do a tonal whiplash between a high-stakes (seemingly) stand-off and a bunch of middle-aged women fangirling over a farewell tour...and yet...somehow this show NAILS IT!

This episode was so much fun and sooooo telling! I loved it!

The Millioinaire Detective: Balance Unlimited! Episode 3 EARLY ACCESS Reaction!

Hahahaha, Haru wasted NO TIME being introduced to the family! And yes, I love how his flashback showed the exact amount we needed to know about him, and AGREED; I was convinced it would be much later on in the series before we learned about his backstory. And yeah, Saito being young and not thinking things through; it's sad and realistic -- but I just loved the middle aged women -- PRIORITIES! :P Hahaha, thank you for the kind words and comment! :D

This episode is pretty much the only thing I still had in my mind about the series. Now I can't remember anything. Not Haru being introduced to the grandmother in the 3rd episode already. That was fast. XD I love the flashback about Haru. That they showed us what happened and we didn't need any words. I really liked that we got it so early on. I thought that would be something that we get later at episode 6 or 7. What Saito did was really dumb but I also understand that he really needed that money. The middle aged women were just great. "We don't care about being hostages we just don't want to miss the farewell concert." The commitment. But also relatable in a way. XD

I love those old ladies and their commitment, haha! It was hilarious and some much needed levity! And yes, Daisuke DOES respect Haru, he's just pretty quiet about it, so it can be hard to see at first -- and yes, Haru's PTSD is very relatable, especially, like you said, because of how it makes him seem to others around him, particularly those he works with. I LOVE the OP and ED so much and H! Yeah, Haru does have that "energy" in the ED, doesn't he? Thank you so much for the kind words and comment! <3

those old ladies are so right for that.. if I was going to a farewell concert for my fave idols NOTHING would stop me! I also ship them so much.. this episode shows that Daisuke respects Haru enough to trust his word over his superiors that are constantly talking shit about Haru. I love Haru's PTSD involving guns which is pretty realistic for his line of work, especially in a place like Japan were guns are a last resort. Not to mention the way everyone judges his ability because of his ptsd. And Daisuke walking past Hoshino really does feel like a current bf vs ex bf type beat LMAO The ED is such a bop but I gotta say.. those drawings of haru and the way they posed him make him really look like such a bottom (I think its cuz the artists really love to accentuate his waist)😭😭😭😭

Right?! The coupling vibes are THERE. And grumpy Daisuke is so cute! I love the dynamic of his “silent but taking action” he has alongside Haru! The middle-aged idol fangirls are HILARIOUS. And yes, the flashback of Haru’s trauma definitely explains a LOT. I also love how the dynamic between them shows they actually might have more compatibility than one would think, especially when Haru starts to use HEUSC in the moment! And Daisuke letting him do his thing; it was really sweet and again, what I didn’t expect from “Richie Rich” in this! Definitely FUELED the ship this episode for me! SO getting LWJ vibes from him at this point! Thank you for the pronunciation help with HEUSC; literally the worst, I am, haha! I could not believe it was Murase voicing Saitou! I missed that! And ooooh, Starrk (love him)’s VA! Thank you for that information!! Loving this series so far and any time a series can compare with Buddy Daddies or Mo Dao Zu Shi, you know it’s good! ^^ Thank you for the comment and kind words!

OOHHHH that's so fun! I didn't recognize his voice, so I'll have to go back and re-listen! Thanks for that info! :D

Meeting the grandmother definitely feels like Haru being introduced as a potential suitor! Grumpy Daisuke is just so adorable. Before his grandmother he's the perfect grandchild, listening to his elders. Then gets his payback later. But he potentially wouldn't have started speeding only Haru continued wheedling him about it. Such an intense moment but the middle age/elderly fangirls have got their priorities straight! I love that the flashback of Haru's trauma doesn't have sound and just an OST running through the background. But words aren't needed to get across just how bad the whole situation is/was. I really like that the episode starts out with Haru talking about how they differ on opinions about how they police things, but he comes around to Daisuke's way of thinking and starts to use HEUSC mixed in with his own methods of policing. (Which for pronunciation of HEUSC the 'Heu' is pronounced like hue, then a long s and hard c. Daisuke steps back and lets Haru handle things his way. After all he did ask for guidance. Then to help Haru solve this in a bloodless manner he hires the damn idol group and then pays for the little sister's operation. Also the deleting of all the clips and images that he does potentially could be on the other side of the police, as that's basically erasing the evidence of the boy's crime. Daisuke may trust Haru but that doesn't mean he isn't a little sh*t to him too! But yes Daisuke trusts him with his life, so we just gotta ship them, right? If you can believe Saitou (the kid holding up the shinkansen) is voiced by Murase Ayumu (who has also voiced Hinata from Haikyuu!!; Skip from Banana Fish; Hayakawa from Bungou Stray Dogs; and Minami from Yuri!!! On Ice). And the other seiyuu for this episode is Takei, the Chief, who is voiced by Koyama Rikiya (who has also voiced Starrk from Bleach; Fukuzawa from Bungou Stray Dogs; Rengoku Shinjurou from Kimetsu no Yaiba; Peter Juurgens from Monster; and Zaratras from Nanatsu no Taizai) Definitely similar vibes to Buddy Daddies with how the show intertwines seriousness with some moments of humour. Daisuke definitely gives Lan Wangji vibes who has his own Wei Wuxian that makes his usual passive way of being start to go out the window. I agree Haru isn't like Wei Wuxian, but they both have the same ability to needle their 'partner'. Like that glare from Daisuke to Haru felt very much like Lan Wangji's glares at Wei Wuxian when Wei Wuxian was studying in the Cloud Recesses. The anime I feel does a very good job with how realistic it portrays things such as people's apathetic response to the livestream/their only concern being about themselves. And then it mixes with the more fantastical with Daisuke's 007-style of gadgets etc.

Anime Annie

FYI, the VA for the hostage taker is Murase Ayumu, aka Hinata from Haikyuu.
