Heaven Official's Blessing//TGCF: Novel Reaction & Review - PART 46 - Chapters 143-145!

**PUPPET MASTER HEADPHONE WARNINGS**

I could NOT wait after last week's cliffhanger and this chapter set proves JUST how wrong I truly was about many things, but mainly -- that we wouldn't get flirting with "child" Hua Cheng...and that I'd hate Pei Ming! I've never been more WRONG! PUPPETS AND PEI MING, Y'ALL!

We're entering Mt. Tonglu, y'all! And it's going to be NO easy cakewalk!  What insanity does MXTX have in store for us?!

NOTE: During the discussion, I started feeling a bit under the weather, so if my discussion seems a bit all over the place for this set, that's why. I'll be pulled together and in better spirits for the next set!

Thank you for watching with me and for all the support!

Heaven Official's Blessing//TGCF: Novel Reaction & Review - PART 46 - Chapters 143-145!

Comments

Thank you for the kind words and comment! Of COURSE Xie Lian is just googly-eyes at HC and his “demands” and thinks he’s the most innocent bean bun, hahahaha! I love it! I love the puppet master scene and all the flirting that intentionally and unintentionally comes with it! And I love how they kind of protect each other in this! XL as the Boomer, hahaha! I love that he can’t escape secretly or not so secretly being this old soul. 🙂 Pei Ming soaking up their entire “show” is just glorious! I LOVE IT. I could seriously see MXTX doing a full-on omegaverse story at some point. I’m so glad with Pei Ming, I was wrong about him and how I’d feel about him – here we are halfway through the story and I already am looking forward and enjoying any and all moments with XL and HC I can get – his interactions are so much fun – it’s like how it is with Qi Rong, only…different, haha! And with the blade, that definitely leaves us with a LOT of questions in this cliffhanger…as one would expect of MXTX, right?

Yes, that’s exactly how I felt in the discussion about the chant – that Hua Cheng was like, “Y’all don’t even KNOW” when it comes to the kiln and what lies in waiting for them. The Narnia angle with Mt. Tonglu is a cool observation! By this point, I was just imagining HC in David Bowie Gareth attire hopping around Mt. Tonglu like the Labyrinth, bwahaha! Poor XL and his luck – I do love that we see how clever XL actually is in this circumstance, once again! Well, except when romance is involved! And YES, the biggest mistake I’ve made in this story so far is doubting general Pei! 😛 I do love HC’s immediate “get him out” meme line – at least he doesn’t seem AS wary of him as say, Qi Rong, hahaha! But yessss, Pei Ming trying to one-up HC with the candy, only for HC to scoff and be like, “As if,” was GLORIOUS! And YESSSSSS Pei Ming calling Xie Lian out – I have a feeling I’m going to enjoy him being around these two, much to XL’s dismay! 🙂 And RITA – thank you! I do love that this cliffhanger sets up the idea that things aren’t as they seem and we need to be cautious about… EVERYTHING. No problem, right? None at all. @_@ And seriously, that picture for this chapter set is one of my favorites - next week will be a CHUNK but I’m so excited! Thank you for the kind words and comment!

Hahahaha, that is true! :P Pei Ming is just having the time of his life, isn't he? Thank you for the comment!

Romaniablack

Hahahaha, thank you so much for the kind words and comment! The pure CHAOS of MXTX is insane and I'm absolutely LOVING it! And General Pei -- what a gag! I just love that he chose sex over safety, hahahaha! Happy Danmei Monday!

Reading this story along with you is so much fun. The chaos MXTX creates is great, but your reactions, predictions, etc. are a true delight. The pleasure you drew from General Pei's reasons for tossing the Ghost City gummies (or whatever) was hilarious. Thanks for a happy Monday!

Thank you for the reaction and take care! HC has agreed to go with XL into mount Tonglu, in exchange of the Gods don't stick their noses into the ghost city and loads of praises ROFL. And I'm pretty sure in XL's eyes this is just his Sanlang being 'mischievous' once again. Oh, love is indeed blind. XL never intended to reveal himself and HC to the ghost crowd but when attention drawn to him, he's quick enough to put up a story about puppet master in seconds, and put a disguise on HC as well by making him the 'puppet'. And if really engaged in fights, most people would target the master rather than the puppet because the controller is more dangerous, so XL taking this role is also protection to HC, but sadly things don't go as planned (as always thanks to our cinnamon bun deity's bad luck) so HC switched their roles and once again become the protector. Female ghosts: how do you keep such nice skin; would you like to share your makeup routine? XL the boomer: idk...drink more water, I guess? Hualian: happily role play together PM: That's some strange kink right there, and I enjoy every bit of it. Now, where can I find girls? The lower-level the ghosts are, the nastier they smell. I wonder how nice would a supreme ghost king smells......luckily as a heavenly official XL cannot smell any ghost energy, or that night he may found it even harder to calm a ghost king in heat (now I need an omegaverse AU where XL is flattened every time he encounters the tiniest whiff of HC's sent) No one would expect PM to be one of the least annoying heavenly official back in book 1! He's always ready to f, but he actually buys ghost candy rather than just rob the store and maybe even kill the owner, and refuses to go sneak attack. But somehow the Swift Life-Extinguishing Blade is harmed by a heavenly official......or is there more to the story?

That bit on the ghosts, who've never experienced the kiln, bringing displeasure to one who has experienced it feels like such an off-hand line, but for me it reads that the ghosts are taking light of a harrowing experience a survivor has faced; something that some people in real life can relate to. Can I say that Xie Lian questioning about if there's a landmark to show you've entered Mount Tonglu always makes me think of the lamppost to signify you've entered Narnia 😂 Although it doesn't move around and trick people like Mount Tonglu's landmark. Narnia is perhaps not as perilous a place, but both are places you should be wary of all you see and hear. But yes Mount Tonglu gives off very similar vibes to Labyrinth. It really feels like Xie Lian's bad luck strikes again with all his questions being immediately answered with a resounding "No". And then also being the one to be called out first. The puppet master is a very suitable lie for Xie Lian to weave...once again proving how quick his mind works in situations like these and yet he becomes stumped when it's in regards to romantic feelings. All the declarations are oh so good, but also somewhat aggravating as a reader because Xie Lian just takes it all as part of their puppet/puppet master play. I gotta say I do love your progression from "Ugh, General Pei" to "Oh my god, it's General Pei!!!" 🤣 Even with Hua Cheng having a more positive opinion of Pei Ming than other heavenly officials, that doesn't mean he's willing to let Pei Ming tease him nor Xie Lian. Hence the "kill it" 😂 Pei Ming talking about having bought the ghost candy from the Ghost City could be why Hua Cheng has a somewhat more favourable opinion of the heavenly official in comparison to others. It suggests he has been to the Ghost City, at least once. By him saying he bought the candy suggests he didn't act like a pompous heavenly official that would either consider such fare beneath him or that as a heavenly official it's his right to have the candy without having to pay. Pei Ming just calling Xie Lian out on his little story with Hua Cheng. Can't help but love him. He is our Lan Xichen shipper for Tian Guan Ci Fu. Also, yes! Pei Ming really does sound like Rita with that line to the Dobermanns (Georgette is the fancy poodle). Ending with that trepidation about the Swift Life-Extinguishing Blade, but definitely not as bad of a cliffhanger as previous chapter sets. Like you say the Swift Life-Extinguishing Blade is a great commentary on Xie Lian judging them as not being anything to be overly concerned about. It's a great way for Mo Xiang Tong Xiu to turn the trope of someone with such a name of grandeur being the first to die on it's head. That image is beautiful. It also is so fitting for parts of their individual personalities. That's gonna be a chunk and a half next week!
