And they're not just going to twiddle their thumbs in the kiln -- apparently, it's time to learn the history of the white-faced calamity and how it's somehow tied to Xie Lian?! MXTX...what do you have in store for us?! My heart is already BROKEN reading these chapters!

MXTX definitely knows how to just hit us where it hurts, right? BWX is just terrifying! WIth or without the mask! I’m definitely NOT looking forward to this flashback at ALL. And HC has definitely “lied” to XL at this point, about the cave, but lying doesn’t necessarily make him insincere. We could argue him answering the way he did was sincerely trying to protect XL. That’s such a clever idea! MQ and FX especially feel like the in-laws and bff’s that don’t approve of XL’s new BF! Hahaha, I can definitely see how if you like Jiang Cheng, you’d like MQ, too! OMG….the fact that Hua Cheng was kicked out of the army but STILL fought in the name of XL…OMG…And that possibly adding onto XL’s guilt? MY. HEART. So "Lang Ying" exists but not quite exists as we don't know yet that since when he's fully taken by BWX and regarding this XL seems to be hiding something from HC......but since we'll be in the past storyline now, I shall cross my fingers for more answers to be delivered soon. BWX no! Keep that sticky disfigured facial mask from XL's face! He already has a cursed shackle that kept him forever in his teens, he doesn't need any more skin care products, and even less those without health certificate! So, we're diving back in time (link click pun intended) into long time ago when XL was first demoted......and this is tough. I have to admit, every time I reread the book, I just skim over this bit because it's just too much for me at least, now let's see how you handle it! Just last time XL asked HC "have you ever met me somewhere else other than those few moments" and HC answered "no never", guess someone not that sincere after all......or he's still fulfilling his oath of "protecting my beloved while he shall never know"

2023-08-29 03:08:26 +0000 UTCI’m cryinggg - just as i was telling you in my previous comment how there’s no news about season 2 and the audio drama WE GET NEWS FROM BOTH!!! OCTOBER BABY WOOOOO!!!! Since we got to Hua Cheng’s fantasy cave reveal in the previous chapters, I have a headcanon that, in the donghua, the opening theme was just parts of Hua Cheng’s murals. I just think it makes sense since looks like someone’s hand-drawn art and every depiction of Xie Lian is crafted with the most detail and stands out among the rest of the crew that are being shown. Also for last week’s chapters, Mu Qing and Feng Xin felt like the in-laws who don’t approve of their child’s spouse. Mu Qing, especially, feels like the mother-in-law who thinks they know what’s best for their kid but ends up just selfishly projecting their ideals onto others. In these chapters, it’s hard to defend his actions, especially since we are solely seeing it through Xie Lian’s pov and feeling how much Mu Qing leaving hurt him. He’s prickly which is why a lot of people in the fandom give so much flack. But honestly, prickly is my type so thats why characters like him and Jiang Cheng are right up my alley lolll 😂😂😂 I think what’s even sadder about ghost fire Hua Cheng being found on the battlefield is remembering the fact that Hua Cheng was kicked out of the army by that point. Which means that, if he died on the battlefield, he had charged into battles and still fought in the name of Xie Lian even though he was never supposed to be there in the first place 😢 another reason to keep his identity a secret bc if Xie Lian found out, that would add onto the guilt. Anyways, shorter comment this time, but i’m super excited to finally get to this second flashback. Monday couldn’t get here quick enough!! Looking forward to the rest of your reactions!!!
