Kuroko's Basketball: "Replace" Light Novel #4 Review!

Oh, Y'ALL! This light novel was so sweet!  So many great moments with the Teiko troupe, Akashi getting some time to shine, and of course, "widdle" Kagami, Himuro, and them worrying about Alex!

This was the longest set of notes I had for the light novel series so far, but one of the sweetest! I can't wait to talk about it with you all!

Thank you for watching with me and for all the support!

Kuroko's Basketball: "Replace" Light Novel #4 Review!

That's fun that you've read the manga versions; I would like to eventually read those on my own time! I agree, though, we definitely earned the right to happy fluff after all this drama! :P Himuro developing a crush and Kagami being oblivious is just so CUTE! I guess I'm just not as tech-savvy with arm wrestling; anyone I've arm-wrestled with hasn't involved so much technique but I'll take whatever reasoning the novel wants to throw at it! I'm going to call that Fujimaki is bs-ing and just letting Akashi win because it's Akashi, but maybe he has some superior knowledge of arm wrestling that I haven't researched, yet! Hahaha! In any case, thank you for the kind words and comment! :D

That was alot of fun! i´ve actually never read the novels before, just the manga version so this was a nice change. I won´t go into any comparison, in case you are want to not only read the replace plus chapters that are not in the novels, but the whole thing. Personally I think I´ve read replace actually plus more often than the original manga itself. I mean, all the shipping and fluffy slice of life stuff..we kinda earned that after all the drama! I life for crushing little Himuro and always oblivious Kagami! Their dynamic with alex is just so wholesome. For the Akashi winning against Nebuya thing: That is actually not that far fetched. As a person with jello arms who struggles with lifting our 5 Kilo water dispenser replacement I cant totally win against my „construction worker build“ collegues. Contrary to what one might think when it comes to armwrestling, there is an significant amount of speed, techniques and ability to anticipate what angle your oponent might go for involved. If your good with that you can pull a win against people who will completly destroy you when it comes to sheer muscle mass. So it makes sense to me that Fujumaki would go with armwrestling for Nebuyas challenge. Since Akashis fancy rainbow superpower should make him far superior in reading people than Iam, he really could win in this szenario…The same should actually go for Kuroko! Or Fujimaki is just bullshiting, also very possible..😅

Hahaha, Honestly, the extra material with Akashi has always been fun to read; they make him so enjoyable (for the most part bwahahaha) as a character! That is interesting about the ganguro term – the only one I can really think of is from Zariya Ranmaru – a lot of their BL couples feature a tan character with white or bleached hair. I do realize it’s not the first time he’s called that; it seemed best to point it out now, because I had time to without the pacing of the manga or anime haha! But it’s good to know that it likely wasn’t anything meaning to be hurtful! Hahaha, I love this turned into a lesson about Japanese culture! Thank youuuuu for that and the comment!

Glad you enjoyed the Akashi chapters even if his constant einning was such a bs. About the ganguro term tho, i can see why it could make someone abit unconfortable. Especially when in this context theyre talking about Aomines tan. Ganguro as a term references to a fashion style in japan that involves a heavy tan, bleached hair and make up. Its a pretty popular style to give for anime characters in general, or well, i cant temember what shows you have watched right now, so I cant really give examples. Im not sure what the story behing the style is really, since theres two popular stories about the "history of ganguro style". One story goes that ganguro started with trying to reach more western beauty standards. And other stories say that theyre trying to to go against the traditional japanese beauty standards which are white skin, dark hair and "natural" makeup. So yeah in that context, the term might be a bit rude, im honestly not sure, buut its not really the first time that aomine has been called that. I have noted a several times in the anime and the audio dramas where Momoi has used the term on Aomine. So id assume that theyre not meaning anything hurtful by that Ans lol, that turned into a whole lesson about a japanese fashion style LOL but I had a phase where I reeally liked to search about japanese fashion styles and I really like sharing my knowledge xD
