Okay, so I have really enjoyed the KNB Light Novels, but THIS ONE took the cake! I cannot tell you how excited I was to read about these chapters and ALL THE SURPRISE SHIPPING! I was FLOORED!
By far this is my favorite so far, though there have been some really good chapters, but my shipper heart was VERY satisfied by this volume and I won't spoil the surprises if you don't already know! BUT I'm hoping to hear what you thought of them!

Being a multishipper is HARD! I feel it’s not so hard with Himuro and Nijimura – they’re my #1 ship together, but I have no problem shipping either with Mura, Akashi, Haizaki…I feel more defensive of KagaKuro in that regard, but this ship came out of NOWHERE and I LATCHED ON! 😛 I hadn’t thought about Aomine bringing up Himuro’s delinquent side but that is SO TRUE! @.@ But yeah, Yosen is the perfect choice for Himuro – just enough structure and enough freedom and he’s the one that has to take responsibility in a lot of regards there with Mura, so it feeds that side of Himuro that likes being the “big brother.” ;) That makes sense about minors on planes; I would be TERRIFIED to fly alone at 14/15! So props to Nijimura! And yes, this chapter made me love Nijimura all the more! We get so many new layers to his character! And HAHAHA Nijimura’s first day in America really could have been a 90’s after school special! Oh man, great connection to Himuro’s fighting ability and Haizaki praising him…wait…DOES NIJIMURA HAVE A TYPE LIKE KUROKO?! Hahaha! And Ogiwara being like Kagami and Kuro fits that “typing” theory for Kuroko as well! I love Nijimura’s dad and agree – best offscreen parental advice!! Mibuchi is such a diva, but I agree, I would be like Mayuzumi being like, “I just want to read my book, please.” Hahaha! But yessss, SO MANY SHIPS! I love Hanamiya and Imayoshi being dumpster kings! 2023-09-09 13:17:25 +0000 UTCThe way the Nijimura starts out really makes you get your detective hat on to try and eliminate who the narrator and 'beautiful guy' are. And because of the established trend from the other novels you automatically try to wrack your brains on how it can be linked to Teiko. Loved the lei for Nijimura! It's totally a romance, right? 🤣 So happy that no-one spoiled the NijiHi ship for you! It's definitely one of those ones that unless you know Nijimura went to America and met Himuro in a light novel chapter, you'd think it's just a random pair-up between two characters (whose only links are Murasakibara and, somewhat, Haizaki) 😂 I laughed so hard with all the ships that have now changed in your mind, just from this one chapter of a light novel. This is one of the joys, and downsides, of being a multi-shipper: you can ship them all but it does make it hard to sometimes say you prefer this ship over this one. Totally agree on the idea Nijimura suggested Yosen for Himuro because it'd be the safest choice. Aomine and Kise are definitely too hot/pretty (and Aomine could end up bringing out Himuro's delinquent side a little more than some others), Akashi could be a terrifying choice or there'd be difficulties because of the more easy-going way America is in comparison to Japan, Kuroko's already got Kagami, and as for Midorima...his eccentricity might be a tad much for Himuro to handle. Typically for minors on planes the oldest cut off for having to be accompanied by a parent/guardian/designated adult I believe is 14. Older then I think there's a member of staff that keeps and eye on you and helps, but otherwise they're pretty much left to their own devices. There are a bunch of forms I think parents have to fill in for such cases, but it is legally possible. Definitely cool seeing more facets of Nijimura's character. It gives that bit more depth to him and makes you love him all the more...as well as wish for a reunion between him and his Teiko brats 😂 Fingers crossed there's something in the manga. I'm the opposite in that I remember my Dad's number but not my Mum's, but that's only because his is similar to mine and hasn't changed from the very first mobile he ever got (back in the early 00s). I've been trying to think what Nijimura's first day in America reminds me of and as you were talking about all the events I realised: the 90s film, Baby's Day Out 🤣🤣🤣 Himuro being able to beat up some of those guys helps explain why Haizaki applauded Himuro's fighting abilities. Pity we didn't get to see *that* fight in the anime. The quote you read out about what Nijimura's Dad told him about a parent being able to give things to their kid, but not take them from them possibly makes him one of the best parents in anime/manga/light novels I've come across, and we don't even actually get to meet him! Love that even with the light novels we're getting further proof of Ogiwara being so similar to Kagami and Aomine. Ogiwara and Kuroko as kids is just adorable good-natured fun. Getting a little bit more on Mayuzumi's character is fun, but also getting to see different facets of the other characters. Mibuchi being a diva is so fun, but I do relate to Mayuzumi wanting Mibuchi to leave him alone when he's trying to read 😂 This volume really does give you so many of the ships but the fact we get more of Hanamiya and Imayoshi's relationship is so much fun! Hanamiya learned from a young age of how to manipulate popular opinion 🤣 Also great being able to see more of Imayoshi's character to explain why Hanamiya always considers Imayoshi to be worse than him. Both are such young masterminds that it's honestly terrifying, yet I still love it.
