The Case Study of Vanitas: Episode 20 Early Access Reaction!

**INCURABLE HEADPHONE WARNINGS**

This is not only the FUNNIEST episode of the series so far, but...it might be my FAVORITE?! The slice of life aspect, humor, emotion, and our sweet gremlin realizing he has feelings possibly for Jeanne is SO amazing!

On top of that, beautiful moments with Noe, Roland, Olivier, and the bookend of Domi and this "mysterious" threat...it's got me nervous but excited for what's to come!

The Case Study of Vanitas: Episode 20 Early Access Reaction!

Comments

Thank you for the kind words and comment! This episode was so much fun! I agree that this series handles romance really well and in a non-cliche means and I agree about that stereotype! COMMUNICATION, right?! I definitely love the ship and any time they can develop it, it’s fine – I don’t go “gaga” over it, but I respect any situation that lets Vanitas love someone! <3 And SERIOUSLY, Roland and Olivier put on their “Sunday best” and straight up went on a date! I love it, too! They’re such good characters, especially Roland! Yessss, we’ve speculated for several episodes about his self-loathing and here it is and it’s really sad. And yes, I talked way back in the “dancing scene” about that last line of your second-to-last paragraph. So sad! But I agree, I love that Roland is such a good friend and wants to do well by him – of course Vanitas would be frustrated by Roland just like he’s frustrated with Noe; they’re examples of two types of characters he dislikes - the Chasseurs and Vampires - and how both Roland and Noe defy expectations of both types of individuals for Vanitas and he doesn’t know what to do with that information or his emotions surrounding it. Poor dude; I feel for him!

Great reaction and discussion! And ohhh man, I loved how much the romance was in the air in this episode. One thing I really appreciate about this series is that when author introduces romantic side-plot, she doesn't do any of that normal and so typically seen trope of characters denying that they have feelings for another person. There is no "its not like I like him/her!!!" that I hate so much in romance subplots. Even if its their first love, they are both very mature about it once they realize what it is. They go straight into thing about what they want to do with those feelings and not denying them to their last breath. And I love that. I always got a "friends who dated for a while and then mutually decided that they are better off just being best friends" vibe from VanitasxJeanne. I love that ship, but I think I prefer the platonic version of it more! And I still can't believe that Oliver and Roland straight up went on a date together XD They are such a good pair!! And we finally heard it straight up from Vanitas mouth... He hates himself. We got so many subtle and clear hints for it in this series but now, its finally said. Vanitas makes me really sad with this self-loathing. And that he can't see himself as a person worth loving... It really breaks my heart. Also, that quote of Vanitas saying that he is not interested in anybody who would love him taking a new meaning. It him saying that no good person would love someone like him so if they are interested in him, they got to be as bad as he himself thinks he is because of his self hatred. I love how much Roland cares for Vanitas. I think it says so much about him that he cares about people who he sees are suffering. He really is so caring and kind. Love him!!

I'm glad that there's some VaNoe shippers here and I do like Jeanne x Domi as well! But YES, Roland and Olivier might as well be married by now! :P And ooohhh, I love that Domi is more popular with women; I can TOTALLY see that! Thank you for the kind words and comment!

Honestly, I'm a hardcore Domijeanne and vanoe shipper but I do love Jeanne's character development. Also, Roland and Olivier are married and you can't change my mind. Really looking forward to your reaction to the rest of the season. I'm so impatient I don't wanna wait another week lol. Fun fact, Domi is canonically romantically popular with women more than men.
