The Case Study of Vanitas: Episode 21 Early Access Reaction!

 **SIBLING-ESQUE HEADPHONE WARNINGS**

Well, last episode was a lot of romantic fun....so it only makes sense that this week is pure TERROR. We FINALLY get No. 71 to make an appearance after teasing us in the OP this second cour...

...and they are DEFINITELY owning up to the teasing and taunting we've received with them! Oh my...this does NOT bode well!

The Case Study of Vanitas: Episode 21 Early Access Reaction!

Comments

Thank you for the kind words and comment and yes! All the tension! I agree, poor Noe is not getting the consent he deserves! And yes, Louis definitely feels all the more tragic after this episode. ๐Ÿ™ I feel he knew from a very early time; he seemed to know when he was with the Shapeless One, but I agree โ€“ lots of unanswered questions. Veronica has such a cool character design, but itโ€™s the classic case of looking beautiful but being QUITE ugly inside! And Mikhail making Noe drink his blood WAS disturbing! Mikhailโ€™s childhood is soooo messed up, indeed! I feel so bad for Domi, too; so many characters in this series just need a HUG. Seriously!

Awesome reaction and discussion!! Man, the tension is really picking up, right?! I really feel bad for Noe that everybody seems to want to force him to drink their blood or do other stuff for them and ignore his consent in all forms. Cloe, JJ, Ruthven and now Mihael... WHY IS EVERYBODY BEING SO PUSHY AND IGNORING CONSENT WITH NOE??? My poor boy ๐Ÿ˜ญ๐Ÿ˜ญ๐Ÿ˜ญ I feel so bad for Louis. With how offhandedly Veronica said all this stuff to Domi, I imagine that it didn't take a lot of time for Louis to find out about all of this. He must have know it from very early age. UGH. He probably spend all of his early childhood with that knowledge hanging over his head. What a sad way to live, especially as a child... I wonder when Louis realized that he was cursed. Did he know from the start? And was he even cursed from the start??? When did the curse manifested? At his birth? Or did Neania visit him after he become bitter about his fate as a twin and did her usual gaslighting shtick? So many questions, so little answers! Veronica is a bitch, true XD I hateee her! I already disliked her at her first appearance at the ball but this made me dislike her even more. She seems really vicious and petty. I also think that Noe didn't recognize Domi and saw Louis instead was because he was feverish and not really right in his mind. And that combined with how similar they look might have made everything worse. I really like alternative translation to the "I wish it was Louis who lived" and the lines following it that Domi said. "It would be better if Louis was the one to survive." And so on. I think it mades it more clear how low Domi's self esteem is and how little she values herself. Because she thinks that everyone would be better off with Louis instead of her. She thinks Louis was just better than her and everything leading up to her small mental breakdown (her blaming herself for the whole situation leading up to Louis death, Noe taking her for Louis, Veronica's casually cruel words insinuating that she is a disappointment to the family and it would be better if Louis was chosen instead of her) just made her internalize all that shit and she didn't have time to process all of that. She just took it all out on herself. And it makes me so sad... The whole scene when Mihael made Noe drink his blood was so disturbing and uncomfortable. Mihael's childhood was really messed up. His understanding of the world seems very skewed up by what his mother did to him. It was really disturbing how little he understood of what his mother did to him. It must have really fucked him up. And THEN he got kidnapped by the most immortal doctor ever, Moreau. He really is so unlucky.

Yeah, there definitely is a "warped perspective" with Mikhail that is very sad, but also very dangerous! And poor Domi; agreed! She has had all this pent up trauma of her own! :( I agree -- Roland is such a sweetheart and I love his character; I'd love to get backstory on him, too! Maybe eventually in the manga! Also, yes, the church part makes sense with Mikhail and Roland! Thank you for the comment and kind words! :D

Ahhh, I don't wanna wait another week :'). I'm so excited for the next three episodes! Mikhal is crazy but you can't help but feel bad for him. He's just a little kid who clearly istn dealing with his trauma in a healthy way :( Poor Domi too, she clearly has never confided in anyone about her feelings over Louis' death and has never really coped with them. Also once again we see what a sweetheart Roland is. I'm pretty sure he was talking about taking Mikhal to the orphanage that the church runs to take care of the victims of vampire attacks and not Moreau. I would really like to see Roland's backstory too he's such an interesting character.
