The final "Replace" Light Novel and I am LOVING the content -- it feels very much a transition through the "generations" with a chapter on Teiko, a bonus chapter on the coach's and THEIR outside lives, and of course my favorite: A chapter with the "NEWEST" generation of Seiren! My heart swells with these chapters, y'all!
I can't believe the light novels are finished but what a fun ride they've been!

Hahaha, I just HAD to mention it because it was fresh off the discussion haha! Yessss, I wish the mangaka would do with him what he does with Mibuchi or Nijimura and just say he doesn’t like women. Kasamatsu would also be a great example of a gay man that’s not at all effiminate and is quite masculine, too, which deserves media representation, to me, anyway. The idea of them meeting Okamura at the movies is so cute and yes, a big teddy bear like Teppei! And of course Himuro can pry info out of Mura – he’s definitely figured him out by now! Imayoshi DOES have a flair for just DRAMATICALLY appearing hahaha! And yessss, the more we see him off the court, the more he and Hanamiya being a pair makes TOTAL sense. At least he’s somewhat inspiring for Kasamatsu! Can’t say that Hanamiya would EVER do that. I do like that we see some of his Kansai Ben in action in this. Now that I’ve seen the Last Game manga, I want Teppei, Alex, and Nijimura going out for drinks and Nijimura lamenting to Alex that he can’t get to Himuro – there’s THAT connection now! It could be a thing! But yes, the RWTW connection! Anytime I think of pumpkins, I think of Banana Fish so likening Kagami to Ash and Kuroko to EIji is…something. But I love how Kagami just is way too straightforward for Asahina, indeed! Love protective BF Kagami! But yeah, I see why the anime didn’t include the new first years, but I really love them already. Yessss Kuroko and Yagi has the Haiji/Prince vibes FOR SURE! But also Ogiwara, so that’s cute! And you’re not alone; I thought of Yuuta too with Yagi from JJK. 🙂 The scenes of what the teams are doing after the third years graduate was great, but Aomine’s gets me so hard, CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT. And Yes, accepting Okamura is just emotional is so great! Getting another side of Akashi or perspective is welcome to me any day, too! And Shutoku’s party probably cemented Takao staying at that school…that and his piano-playing BF. ;) The Teiko trip and relationship between Aomine, Momoi, and Kuroko was so good! Midorima really shouldn’t go on overseas trips, though, if he’s THAT concerned about lucky items. I agree, though, the Aomine feels here was soooooo good! And then the Cyclone Pass used for the first time…the AoKuro content was exceptional here and Tiki’s prediction? This series loves to hit us with the AoKuro feels, doesn’t it? I’m here for it, though. I would read a whole series on the just the backstory of the coaches; their dynamic is SO fun! Thank you – I was honestly very nervous about the light novels because reading six BOOKS seemed daunting, but these were so much fun and they’ve added SO much to the characters themselves they definitely feel worth it! <3 And NO rush – I’m honestly not ready to end my KNB journey yet, hahaha, so I can be super patient! :) Thanks so much for the kind words and comment!

That was a night and a day in the channel! 😆 I'm like you and I love how Free! gave us continuation of our boys into University, so being able to get a glimpse of my favourite captain at University is also fantastic! Also wish the mangaka could just come out and say that Kasamatsu isn't interested in females full stop. Yeah the difference between Kasamatsu and Feng Xin is that Feng Xin has been continually shown to be afraid of women and avoids them at all costs (with one exception), whereas Kasamatsu I don't think has ever been afraid of women or overly nervous with them that he messes up. He just can't click with them in the same easy manner he does with men. Love the introduction of Okamura with him screaming his head off in the scary movie. He's such a big teddy bear. Murasakibara messaging back "Troublesome" is so fitting. I love Himuro being able to get the information from Murasakibara 🤣 Also an invitation for cocoa of all things is so adorable. For the cool voice suddenly appearing I immediately knew it was Imayoshi! 🤣 He's the only one dramatic enough to appear like that. His stalking definitely gives him yet more points for why he and Hanamiya are suited for one another. I do like that Imayoshi telling Kasamatsu that basketball can be his hobby, he doesn't need a new one. Felt very much like Kasamatsu being told he can be who he is and he doesn't need to change (which you can take to mean other things regarding girls and Kasamatsu too). Though I do know, given Imayoshi's character he probably said it just so as he'd have that fifth member for their team 🤣 And yes for Imayoshi's Kansai dialect, the Crunchyroll subs really don't show his dialect much (not like how they did the translation for Inarizaki in Haikyuu!!), and a lot of the translators for the extra content (including myself) didn't change the translations in an overt way to show his dialect. I do love that Kiyoshi still has that link with Seirin, even whilst in America 🥺 Considering he created the team it's nice that they keep him updated on the goings-on. I also love that there is such an influx of interest. Reminds me a lot of KazeTsuyo once the Chikuseisou qualified for the Ekiden. I love how blasé both Kuroko and Kagami are about being considered senpai. Though with Kuroko having technically been considered Kise's senpai that does give a little more confusion on the idea of senpai and kouhai as Kise is canonically the oldest of the Generation of Miracles, and Kuroko is the youngest (but because he entered the club *before* Kise he's therefore his senpai within the club). Wish we could have gotten a little of these new first years at the end of the anime. But I guess that might have left it too open-ended, and so a lot of fans might have had that expectation for more. Riko killed all the recruits with her training schedule. Kuroko helping Yagi definitely reminds me of Haiji and Prince in KaseTsuyo! Though it also reminds me of both Ogiwara helping Kuroko with his basketball when he started out, and Aomine helping Kuroko develop his skills and practice more when he was on the Third String. Also with the name and his personality, I can't be the only one that also thinks of Yuta from Jujutsu Kaisen for Yagi, right? Kagami's way too straightforward to handle all of Asahina's staring 😂 But Kuroko's advice of imagining them as pumpkins is hilarious. I feel like Kagami being a cook is why that advice didn't help too much. I imagined if any of the rest of the team had overheard Asahina mistaking Kuroko for a manager they'd all be on the ground laughing like before the Shinkyou match when Papa lifted up Kuroko and called him a child. But I'll take protective boyfriend Kagami any day! 🥰 Aomine going to practice of his own volition 🥺 Imayoshi and Susa being like proud parents for their troubled child's growth. The Kise and Kasamatsu moment 🥰 I love them. Okamura is such an emotional guy. I do love him a little. And I love that no-one tells him to suck it up or anything else that's usually advised to boys who display "too much emotion". They do get him off the stage because the ceremony has descended into chaos because of him, but everyone just accepts him for being so emotional, and the others being the same way. As far as I know Yosen is just a missionary school, not specifically an all-boys' school. I love getting a glimpse of Akashi's character through Mibuchi's eyes (and him making a joke!!!). But yeah I'm with you on them having a First Year give the graduation speech to the Third Years...🤣 The Shuutoku graduation party sounds like chaos so of course Takao is at the very heart of it 😂 Aomine teasing Kuroko...gah they're such precious babies! 🥺 I love that Momoi really is Aomine's keeper; remembering to bring *his* passport is like that last moment to remind us of the importance she holds in Aomine's life. Midorima bringing all the Lucky Items in his carry-on honestly makes me concerned for them going through security. Like the assortment of those items being seen through x-ray would likely make the security guards want to pull the bag for a more intensive search 🤣 Definitely an interesting chance to see the dynamic of Momoi and Akashi. I do feel for the adults trying to herd these boys. But them using BBQ as a bribery tactic is so good, yet evil 😂 The light novels just gotta hit me with even more Aomine feels though. I also love that we get Kuroko using the Cyclone Pass in this, especially as in the anime they talked about it being a pass only the Generation of Miracles could catch and yet they never showed us Kuroko using that pass with them. And Aomine blushing over Kuroko's words and his belief in them 🥰 Tiki's prediction for the future adds that bit of insanity to the Teiko chapter, but also hits you even harder with the AoKuro feels. I love you getting the bit with the coaches. Araki sticking to her guns makes me like her even more, especially when in such a situation that a lot of people would succumb to peer pressure. Hearing your reviews and discussions of the light novels have been so much fun! I'm the same as you that some light novels (especially ones that are based off of a manga/manhua/manhwa) don't have that same feel to them in purely written format, and there are some light novels that I've honestly preferred the manga/manhua/manhwa that were made based off of the original light novel because those light novels just had a lot of superfluous scenes/descriptions that aren't carried over in the other media forms. I'm about halfway through my translation of the Characters Bible, but it'll definitely not be finished until sometime in October. But I know there's no rush for it.
