Bungo Stray Dogs Season 5: Episode 10 Full Length Reaction!

 **STEREOTYPE-DEFYING HEADPHONE WARNINGS**

I applaud Asagiri for taking a lot of Shonen stereotypes with nakama, "final moves," and even split personalities and turning them COMPLETELY on their heads..but in a way that proves the "good guys" aren't going to get things handed to them so easily...as if this season hasn't proven that already!?

This DEFINITELY felt like a penultimate episode, didn't it?! Things could not be worse for the ADA and with the world looking like it's going to end and Aya being just a 10-year-old girl with a table at her disposal....what's a protagonist force to do?! I can't believe next week is the last episode of the season...

Bungo Stray Dogs Season 5: Episode 10 Full Length Reaction!

Oh my gosssshhh someone needs to make that collage of my slow-rising despair! Hahaha! I do agree that the trauma coming like a train in this is just crazy! Bones are not letting us breathe! Ohhhh that quotation with Oda is so good! I can DEFINITELY SEE THAT! It’s sad because I don’t think anyone expects Dazai to be as good as Oda, but I can see the idea that he puts that pressure on himself for sure, especially with how he is with Atsushi and now Sigma. But yes, he should know how much Oda would be proud of him! And oh my gosh! I didn’t realize about that with the “It’s up to you now” – That’s insane!! And the idea of Dazai becoming like Oda! @.@ And yes, Sigma’s growth! We love to see it! The Fyodor fake out is sooooooo well done! Asagiri gets major props for all of that! And then Chuuya shooting Dazai…Just….why is it like that here? And yeah…poor Atsushi; there’s too much trauma going on to think he’s in the worst shape! And now it all rests on Aya……ugh….I’m not ready for this season to be over! Luckily, there is still lots of BSD content we can still look at later this year but uhm YES, if they could release season 2 of BSD Wan ASAP? That’d be greeeeeeattttttt – thank you for the kind words and comment! This season has gone by SO FAST!

Thank you for the kind words and comment! That's a good theory with Aya, though Fukuchi's exact orders were to find the thief and kill them, so technically, Aku should have done that, because Aya WAS the thief, but...clearly the power of the boyfriends is stronger here than with Chuuya and Dazai. :') And SERIOUSLY, shooting Dazai in the head?! WTF -- I hope someone at comic con asked him about it! But poor Atsushi indeed -- he's lost his legs and arms so many times -- at this point, Aku's going easy on him! ;) Thank you for the comment! :D One more episode to go....

I'm sorry, but the entire last few minutes of the reaction, your faces and the MANY stages of grief you went through (like the one you posted in discord) were an absolute sight to behold 😂😭😭😭 They just said it all. I swear after this season we need an entire compilation of post-episode faces from the beginning of s4 all the way to the end of s5, because I'm sure you could track the progression of happiness to growing despair. 💀 This arc has been such a long misery train, and while it's lasted YEARS for us in the manga, I don't know if it's much better to be bombarded with it all over just a few months in the anime..... I'm STILL not over each of the major events in this episode alone INDIVIDUALLY, but Bones forced us to deal with multiple back-to-back; Bones, are you trying to kill us by throwing so much in each episode?? Let people breathe 😭 let the /story/ breathe 😭 maybe the characters aren't breathing, but WE need time to to process all of this!! 😭😭😭 "No one can best the perfection of the dead" that quote though, and especially with how you talked about it...... my bias is once again showing itself lol but who else would that quote make me think of.... than Oda. Dazai /worshipped/ Oda, because Oda was such a unique person to him who basically saved him in so many ways, and he's trying to fulfill his legacy now, and Oda's last wish for him..... and I'm sure that Dazai constantly feels so much pressure, and like he can never be as "good" as Oda was. But Oda wasn't perfect -- he had so many flaws and so many struggles and insecurities of his own, this is so painfully evident in the Dark Era novel, and it was partly /because/ of all these insecurities that he had that he could understand Dazai so intimately, but Dazai always kind of put him on a pedestal and never realized all these things about Oda, I feel, and this is magnified even more after his death. Oda wasn't flawless (haha) by any means, but he was to Dazai, and now he's trying to match the perfection of a dead man.... but Oda never meant to put such lofty expectations on his shoulders, never /expected/ him to be perfect; he simply hoped that Dazai could become a little happier. If he were here now, I know he would be so proud of Dazai for how much he's already achieved and how far he's come. 🥹💔😭💖 Because what can possibly show that better than what Dazai did for Sigma in this episode? He protected him, reassured him underwater that he didn't mean him any harm and wanted him to be safe, comforted him after they escaped the flooding, and then proceeded to save his life /again/ by pushing him out the elevator, reaffirming his promise to get Sigma out alive......... It's such a beautiful scene. 🥺😭💜 The wording that Dazai uses in Japanese when he says "It's up to you now" in the Crunchyroll subtitles, this is the exact same phrase that Oda says to Dazai at the very end of the Dark Era stage play, in the original scene Asagiri wrote for the play, where Oda appears to present-day Dazai and thanks him and says "I will leave the rest to you" (I made a tweet with this comparison, but it has the manga panels, so I'll share it once you read the manga), and I love this because to me it feels like Asagiri reinforcing the idea that Dazai IS becoming so much like Oda, he IS becoming an Oda for lost children like Atsushi, and Kyouka, and now Sigma, who need him.... He's grown so, so much, since the start of the series, and it makes me so emotional to see. It warms my heart 😭😭😭 Dazai and Sigma are so precious, and Sigma DESERVES to be a member of the ADA.... he deserves that trust and that home. 🥹🥺😭💜 I said it last episode, but Sigma has grown so much, as well, in such a short amount of time of having Dazai's influence, and his moment with Fyodor here is just the culmination of that. He's still unsure about so many things, because of course, but he's able to recognize and call out the fact that FYODOR is the one who truly wants to use and manipulate and hurt him, and not Dazai. Or perhaps it would be more accurate to say, that even if Sigma knows Dazai wants to use his ability -- which he explicitly said he does, he wants him to get the information from Fyodor -- he's also unconsciously felt Dazai's care for him, and his care for the agency members. He recognizes Dazai's selflessness, especially since he also explicitly said that he also chose Sigma to save his life, and ACTED to save his life, just moments before. And now, Sigma feels the need to pay that back, to match the price Dazai paid, as any good casino manager would. I just think it's so precious that just a little while ago he was moaning about how "I'm so glad you weren't a customer at the casino", and now Sigma is treating Dazai just like one of those customers. 🥹💜 I'm just so proud of my two boys!!! They've done so much for each other in such a short amount of time, and helped each other grow, and I want them both to be able to go back home together to the ADA, where they belongggg 😭😭😭💖💔 Fyodor's act and subsequent uno reverse sent me into insanity for over an hour when I first read it, but I said all that on discord. 💀 Split personalities are quite a cliche indeed, and I think I would have been disappointed like you if that had actually been Fyodor's whole deal in the "traditional" way we think of split personalities, but on the other hand, I think Asagiri could have done something really interesting if it had been in the way Fyodor said it was? He claims that he was "overtaken" by his ability -- which sounds to me like an ability gaining sentience and forming a will of its own that overtakes them, and imo that sounds really cool and not at all out of the realm of possibility for this universe??? We know SO LITTLE about abilities and how they came to be, but Dazai's anti-ability is supposed to be one-of-a-kind, and then there's the whole can of worms that is Dead Apple, which, while supposedly not canon, suggest SO many things about there being more than meets the eye with abilities..... I mean, the entire premise of the movie is that abilities get separated from their users' bodies and become sentient beings..... and there's that part where Fyodor stands next to his ability and claims that "crime and punishment are close friends". Again, I don't think Dead Apple is canon, so I still don't know how much of the lore in it should be taken seriously, but even if Fyodor's story here is false about himself, I still can't help but wonder if there isn't some meaning to be found in it anyway.... After all, the best lies have bits of truth in them, right? Idk, I just think the concept is fascinating. Dazai getting shot like that was.... well. It's upsetting. I don't have much more to add. It was so upsetting to read and it's so upsetting here as well. Especially seeing Chuuya having to be the one to do it. I'm not fine :'''''))))) it was so brutal...... Dazai's cries of pain....... just why this 😭😭😭💔💔💔 Atsushi being stretched till his limbs popped off was equally as brutal, but I'm used to seeing that poor boy lose his limbs, so....... it didn't affect me as much, as Gin said, oops. Still!!!!!! Not okay!!!!!!!!!!! Everything is riding on poor Aya's shoulders....... she did her very best 😭 and her vampire dad knows that she did. 😭😭😭 I cannot believe the end of the season is already here; it feels like just yesterday that SEASON /4/ was starting. What the hell. What a ride it's been. I'll never be ready for tomorrow. Thank you for all the great BSD reactions and discussions this past year (and for indulging in my deranged comment rambling lol); I am excited for the future content to come. 🥹🫡💖 Which will hopefully include Wan season 2 because by god do we need it *chugs alcohol*

Great reaction and discussion!! Man, this is really a doomsday scenario, isn't it? Everything has gone to shit in this episode XD I have this theory why Akutagawa was able not to kill Aya. I think its because nobody gave him a direct order to kill her! His orders were probably just to find and take Bram back to Fukuchi and not to kill others. So Aku could have avoided it like that, but Chuuya couldn't bc he was give a direct order to kill. Thats the difference, I think! I was so shocked when the chapter with Dazai getting shot in the head came out! I was so baffled and unbelieving that that really happened! How could they do that to Dazaiiii 😭😭😭 And mannn, is it bad that I don't feel bad for Atsushi loosing his limbs anymore? He loses them so often I got used to it XD Poor Atsushi but really, him losing limbs MULTIPLE TIMES PER SEASON has been a thing in like, every season of this anime XD
