Again, NOT going as I anticipated -- Guts has decided to take leave and look for his own dreams, but his friends - specifically Casca and Griffith - are not ready to be parted from him. Guts may not know the hold that he has on these people, but that's not stopping him from setting out to find his purpose...
...But Guts has NO IDEA the impact that severing that bond (even if to Guts it's only temporary) has had on Griffith. And Griffith seems to take out his frustrations at losing his "crush" to lengths I was NOT thinking the show would go just yet!

2023-11-13 22:10:26 +0000 UTCWhat Griffith did in the anime was definitely predatory. He egregiously manipulated a still child. And Charlotte does say no (multiple times during his advances). She did try to push him off, but he grasped her body toward himself. He even manipulates her fear of her first time by saying, "are you scared? throw your worries into the fire." Also reflecting his own mental state. Charlotte let him into her chambers but that doesn't mean she is thinking of sex, I actually think the anime shows in clear detail the thought process of Charlotte when she lets him in. She just wanted comfort in his presence and talk with him, especially since the last time she saw him he went off to end the war, when he came back he nearly dies to poison , her step-mother is murdered and part of the estate is burned, with conspiracies of assassins or Tudor spies infiltrating Midland. You get an idea that she is just scared and worried, she has no one to really comfort her, or talk to and she is quite shy and doesn't open up to people a lot. Bottling all this up took a toll on her. You can see that this is the case because of the fact of her surprise, and initial rejection/pull back of Griffith's sudden intimacy. Charlotte was spilling her heart out to Griffith, but Griffith didn't even hear acknowledge a single thing that Charlotte was saying. He just wanted physical intimacy by any means necessary on someone who is vulnerable and easily manipulable.
