Frieren: Beyond Journey's End! Episode 4 FULL LENGTH Reaction!

Comments

I love morning Frieren! I can relate so much! It could also explain why she's just "meandered" somewhat, too, when she didn't have anyone to help get her up. But yes, she is making small steps, shrinking the decades to checking on friends. I love seeing how she is or isn't self-aware -- and that's a good question - is it just Frieren or are all Elves so disconnected with humanity? Because they live so long? I'm so fascinated about the Elves and want to know more! Hopefully the series will give us more information later on! Thanks for the comment!

Morning Frieren is a mood, she definitely gets more productive when not by herself. Frieren took 50 years to get back and see Himmel and the others, got upset that she didn't learn more about them and set out to learn more about humans, takes 20 years to check back in with Heiter and 30 years with Eisen... so progress i guess? small steps and all that. But she is an interesting protagonist, we see that she has changed but still struggle with her understanding of feelings, both her own and those of others. In some ways she is very self aware and in others not so much. It almost seems that both her master and her old companions knows her better then she knows herself, even with their short lifespans and even shorter time together. Is all this an Elven thing or is it a Frieren thing? You brought up neurodivergence and it might be that or this is just how most elves are. It's very telling when she is surprised that Eisen knew about her time with Heiter... you mean you can keep up and maintain your relationships and not just come visit every half century? Wild.

Yessss, I will definitely talk about the sour grades in a future reaction but that is such a fun detail! I LOVE how lived-in and immersive this world is already; it just makes you want to explore it! ^^ Maybe Eisen knows when to not go on dangerous adventures! ;0 But Yessss, Milet did the ED or OP for Vinland Saga and is soooo good! I think a beautiful choice for this series! :D Thank you for the kind words and comment!

I really enjoyed your reaction and thoughts, as per usual. I like Eisen keeps saying he is too old for adventuring, yet he is there lifting a boulder and running on water in this episode. Remember Frieren being proud of the sour grape spell? She made sour grapes for Eisen in this episode. It really shows the attention to detail in the story. I know, after the first four episodes for me, I really felt immersed in the world. As far as the ED with Milet's song, I wanted to say something about her. She is such an underrated singer. You should give her recordings on "The First Take" especially the song inside you a listen. Well, that it for me with Frieren this week, will be here tomorrow for 86 and then its a new week. :)

You already know that the first four episodes were released as an two hour special, but with this episode one can clearly see that it was like a big prologue and now we have an actual destination. Fern would be 17 right now, since in the last episode (with 27 years after Himmel's death) she said she was 16. Himmel understood her after all, he knew she would enjoy the sunrise not because of the sunrise itself but because of the company with her. When they start praying, I like how Frieren does it immediately after seeing Himmel do it and it's sweet how Eisen kept praying till today, just because a friend taught him that, in general the hero's party is such a sweet group of friends, Heiter and Eisen wanting to help Frieren because they knew she has regrets, them all learning from each other, or I guess inspiring one another, really nice. They used the grape spell this episode, nice detail! Ende - End (pretty obvious) "Wille" Region - Will Region (like the will of someone) "Riegel" Canyon - Bolt/Latch/Bars Canyon Now we're retracing the steps and journey and this time, Frieren will probably reflect and try to appreciate this ten-year journey, like learn for her mistakes. Great Discussion, excited for next week ^^
