Frieren: Beyond Journey's End! Episode 12 FULL LENGTH Reaction!

**HEROIC HEADPHONE WARNINGS**

In true Frieren fashion, this episode was hilarious, heartfelt, and made me gasp and nearly cry...and can we say? Stark - my dude - you ARE a hero in my eyes! Now you just need to go after that sword, eh?

There's lots to theorize with all the new information we receive on Stark's background, that gets expanded on here. And this series just hasn't missed so far! I'm head over heels -- let's talk about this one!

Frieren: Beyond Journey's End! Episode 12 FULL LENGTH Reaction!

Comments

I feel it’s her keeping Himmel alive there through the village? She definitely doesn’t want to forget about him and if he stays in people’s minds, that can’t happen, right? I do love “goblin” Frieren and her smirk! Those grimoires she’s reading are probably not helping her lewdness. ;) I LOVE Stark and feel so much for him – he tries to take on so much! I don’t necessarily want Stark to pull the sword out, in hindsight now, but I wouldn’t disapprove of it either, but I like your plan better for that. Thank you for the comment!

I find Frieren's "agreement" with the village interesting, she talks about idolizing heroes to the point that the real hero is forgotten and it doesn't seem like something positive, but apparently she made a deal to come here every 50 years (well more like 80 but you know) so they don't have to hire other adventurers and have the truth come out. A commitment to come to this village "all" the time doesn't seem like Frieren's thing, so why is she doing this? Does she want to protect Himmel's image after all? Is it what Himmel wanted? What she thinks Himmel wanted? It also seemed like she got approval from the village chief before revealing the truth to Stark, so something is going on here, just can't quite figure it out. Smug/goblin Frieren is great, finally getting use of those lessons about men she got all the way back from her master... even though she is a thousand year old spinster living vicariously through these young'uns. Stark puts so much on himself, he left out quite a bit from the story of him being a coward and the only one fleeing his village. And if you ask Flamme the freaking "legendary" mage it was all those fools not running away who did the wrong thing, fighting fair is for schmucks. I think i'm another of those who doesn't want Stark to pull the sword either. Let the sword be for some calamity 5000 years into the future, far removed from Himmel and anyone else he might have inspired/influenced.

I do love the interactions with Heiter and Himmel getting expanded now that we know they're childhood friends -- and that's good to know about the potion and perhaps Stolz's "pride" could be tied to his brother - or that Stolz is the "pride" of his family, despite stark being the one that may end up being stronger when all is said and done? And yesssss, the party being made up of those members that are supposedly "less than ideal" and yet we see their true strength come out in these episodes? I live for it! Thank you for the comment and kind words!

Yeah, the fact they managed to defeat him WITHOUT that is cool…but it does have me nervous for a threat that WOULD need it. *laughs nervously* But yesssss, Himmel is just so wonderful! And seeing their banter as a group is so sweet! It’ll be intersting to see if Stark does “earn” the sword, but I love the character shades transcribing from the OG group with Frieren to this one. Oohhh, that is an interesting point about Stark maybe not needing the sword to become a hero; that’s an interesting note – I’m curious to see where the story takes us! I do like the idea that Himmel inspires Stark as well. It’ll be fun to see where his character goes on this journey! 🙂Thank you for the kind words and comment and thoughts – I love Stark so much so any focus on him is so great! Huzzah!!

Himmel rocks that cape so well, Edna Mode would forgive him! ;) Thank you for the comment!

I love how when you watch interactions between Himmel and Heiter, it's subtle how familiar they are with each other, but rewatching scenes or having that detail of them being childhood friends for future scenes gives them a little more meaning. The potion was mentioned in episode 3 or 4, don't remember which one exactly but it was the episode where Frieren bought Fern a birthday gift. For Stolz his pure white cape symbolised him being the strongest of the village, but he willingly dirties it and doesn't mind when training his little brother, I'm glad Stark had at least one family member he could rely on. What's really interesting and ironic is the hero party that defeated the demon king consisted of: a 'Fake' Hero, a 'corrupt' Priest, a 'cowardly' Warrior and a 'disgraceful' Mage. I really like that! 'Appetit' Region - 'Appetite' Region (like having an appetite) Stolz - Pride Looking forward to next week ^^

Real heros don't wear capes, unless you're Himmel in which case, of course you would wear a cape, you're Himmel.

Honestly i love that Himmel and the others defeated the Demon king without the True sword, that's even cooler, man was even more of a legend for that. And absolutly love that Himmel became a Hero by pettiness at what Heiter said to him. Himmel will always be the real hero, even if there is the prophecie with the "REAL" hero it doesn't make Himmel less of a Hero, he wasn't the chosen one and i love that, you can relate more, because he was "normal" ( normal by fantasy standard of course ). Of course you can also really relate to Stark if he turn out to be the "REAL" hero because of his mentality ( i dont like to say this term "real hero" when talking about the hero of the sword because i feel like i disrespect Himmel lol When Himmel said in the episode "even if im a fake Hero ect..." i was like NO dont you dare call yoursefl that even if its to prove a point later ). I would also really like for Stark to become a Hero without that sword ( im glad he did not try ), and it would also continue the message of "you dont need the confirmation or the approval of something to become a real hero" i think it suits Stark better than being told by a prophethic sword that he is a hero. And Stark is inspired by Himmel so i see him becoming more of the type of hero he was, proving to everybody but also to himself that even though he is not the most confident person or the strereotypical chosen hero, he can become one by himself or if there is really a great need for that sword for a huge foe, i want Stark to first of all realize that even if he got the sword and succeed its not that sword that makes him a hero or that he dont need the sword's approval or confirmation like Himmel, of course i dont want him to be a copy of Himmel when i say that but what i said is i think more in line with who Stark his and would be a huge developpement for him as a person, and better for his self cofidence, believing in himself and his action more than in a prophethy. A sword does not make a person a Hero, their action does. That's the message of this episode, thats why i love it so much. ( sorry for my english ) I dont know if i conveyed what i want to say correctly, but i hope i succeeded.
