Sayaka is basking in the glow of becoming a magical girl and everything is seeming to go her way...but a redheaded, hot-blooded "girl next door" is here to put her in her place...and possibly the grave!
You all will have to excuse me as I don't trust this little white cat demon any further than I can throw him...and he needs to stay away from Madoka, who is getting pulled farther and farther apart in whether to join her friends or not in selling their innocence and freedom for a "simple hope!" *screams*

i dont meant to sound all negative and all.. but the question to different luna from kyubey was silly.. as if i would ask you there a guy who needs your help desperately, and another guy who try to scheme you they both males, humans, and with brown hair.. so is there any difference between them? hmm

I really like the clash with Sayaka and Kyouko as well for that reason - we get to see them at odds with one another! And yes, Madoka wanting them to work together would be nice! Homura does not seem interested, though! And yeah, I wish these girls wouldn’t berate themselves for being HUMAN. It’s so frustrating at times! Oohhh, that is VERY interesting in the witch’s familiar voiced by Madoka’s VA – ahaha, I like they just used her because she was there on set, haha!! And YES, Kyubey is clearly preying on them when they aren’t thinking clearly – like, “how about you make a wish NOW” when you can’t properly think it over! It’s very…strategic! I’m excited of what’s to come!

And YES, I wore that shirt and then realized, “I NEED to watch Madoka with it on!” Sailor Moon was one of the OG anime I watched – and it was the Dic Dub in the 90’s, yessss, so it has a special place in my heart! And yeah, Artemis being a male character when – Artemis being a goddess should have been a hint that something had been changed there. 😛

2024-05-07 21:09:50 +0000 UTCLoving the reaction and discussion! They are always the highlight of my week 🥰 The fight between Sayaka and Kyouko is so well animated and intense. It also shows the clash of ideologies of what a magical girl is supposed to be in their eyes. Madoka wishes so desperately for this to a sailor moon situation, in which they can fight together and develop the power of friendship, but eventually get turn down by Homura 😭. I also love the scene in which Sayaka holds Madoka's hands and admits to being afraid. It's so wholesome. But then she immidiately calls herself pathetic for feeling that way. Berating themselves for feeling human emotions are very on brand for these girls, I fear. Kyubey keeps asking the girls to make a wish when they cannot think clearly. With Mami, it's when she is dying. With Sayaka, it's when she sees the person she loves in so much pain that she cannot stand it. The girls can do so much logical thinking, or consider the warnings they are given, but it will be useless when these moments come. We see it in this episode with Madoka especially. Fun fact: the witch familiar in this episode is voiced by Madoka's VA. She brought it up the audio commentary like "Oh right I voiced that thing, I was like Eughhhhhaaaeeeee"

I enjoy you're all in on your opinions, we'll see! I haven't seen this in quite a while, so it almost feels a small bit like I'm going in blind each week too. What a show though, I look forward to each new episode. Your choice of a Sailor Moon shirt this episode made me smile too, nice. One of these days I have to go back and watch it with the original VA (back when it aired in the 90s, I only had access to the dub aired on TV). I have read a few of the stories on how they really butchered the series in the US localization, and hearing you mention they switched Artemis' voice to be male reminded of all that again.
