Natsume Yujin-Cho: Episode 4 FULL LENGTH Reaction!

*PURE AND IMPURE HEADPHONE WARNINGS*

Natsume's hesitance to interact with his class is put to the test when Sasada organizes a "test of courage" that turns out to be her way of getting to see a youkai one more time! But this youkai is far more powerful than they let on, and Natsume's class may be in danger!

What's a boy with a ridiculous talking cat to do?!

Natsume Yujin-Cho: Episode 4 FULL LENGTH Reaction!

Comments

AHAHAHAH You know...I kind of thought that "cousins" part with that moment, too! I was afraid folks wouldn't get the reference; glad you do, though! :D Ahhhhh, that's really interesting about the Kappa!! It definitely is cute but...the...housing of its soul is....something. XD I've also heard of Gintama and I REALLY want to see Saranzanmai! I'm not sure it will advance in this poll but it is on my short list to get to eventually! Ah, as of right now, I'm not planning to look into the manga, especially because there is supposedly a new season of Natsume coming out at *some* point this year or next -- we'll see after that, though, where my channel is schedule-wise! Thank you so much for the kind words, comment, and the info! :D

Perhaps it's because you mentioned the Sailor Moon dub, but when you said Madara could have tried to pass as Natsume's cousin, I thought, "What kind of cousins are we talking about?" The green "duck turtle" yokai that Natsume poured water on is known as a kappa. It is a mythological creature from Japanese folklore with a dish on its head, and that dish needs to contain water in order for the kappa to survive. Without liquid in the dish, it struggles on land, almost like a fish out of water. They like to wrestle, and they're blamed for drowning deaths.  One of the stranger factoids is, and I kid you not, kappa will sometimes attack humans for the purpose of stealing our shirikodama, a mythical organ located in the human anus which houses our soul. I've seen kappa before in anime such as Gintama and Sarazanmai (which I highly recommend for it's mythology, BL, and creative storytelling), but I'd forgotten that a kappa showed up in Natsume. Will you be reading the manga for this series at some point, or do you only read the manga for certain shows?

Thanks for the comment! This was flagged for some spoilers, so I couldn't read it -- please note that I don't want anything that will reveal any plot or character information to come and if I've missed something, please let me try and watch the show to figure out if I can catch back on in the future. Thanks for the support! Just letting you know so hopefully I can read your comments in the future!

Dont tell me you forgot everything that happened to him as a child whenever he talked about seeing ghost, he is just being cautious, he will deny being able to see ghosts for all eternity. Human version Nyanko-sensei.... would. That also reminds me of the nyanko-sensei pin that i have, he is jumping towards a stick on dango. Lol, your comments about Reiko at the end of the reaction, cute.
