Natsume Yujin-Cho: Episode 7 FULL LENGTH Reaction!

Comments

Ahhh, thank you! This episode was PRECIOUS! And yes, just like with gender - whether we know what it is for the yokai or even what their name is, we still get them with an identity, personality, and relevance to the series and that's really special! It's so neat how the series pulls it off so seamlessly! Thank you for the comment and kind words!

Ahhh, this episode. I just knew you'd love the Fox Spirit!! It's find of interesting how a series that places so much emphasis on names doesn't always name its characters. Some (not all) of the yokai we've encountered didn't have names, or had a name we didn't learn until after Natsume returned it. And yet, despite that, it doesn't take away from the character or the story. Heck, I didn't realize this when I watched the episode on my own, but this Fox Spirit was never referred to by a name.

THAT MOMENT! Wondering what Natsume was thinking, if he was feeling pride, happiness at inclusion, making us wonder what his previous home experiences have been like -- I love that this series makes us question all of this with the TINIEST of expressions! It's so good! And YES, the little fox was ADORABLE! Natsume being so kind and warm to them was such a highlight this episode! Thank you for the comment!

What kills me in this episode is the look on Natsume's face when Shigeru asks him to pick something up. And it does bring up some questions about what exactelky was going through Natsume's mind in that very moment. It just gets me everytime. And of course i love our little fox child, he's the cutest little button and i want to wrap him in a blanket and ndver let go.
