I took a vacation after Volume 23 to clear my mind, and that it did! While I still take some umbrage with Miura -- fighting ghosts isn't just for Guts anymore -- I AM appreciative of the direction this volume takes, particularly with...WITCHES!
Schierke may end up being a favorite of mine and the exposition shared this volume has me SO intrigued! We're back in action! Thanks for being patient with me the last few weeks.

I am SO happy to finally be meeting Schierke proper and for getting some PROPER exposition! Yay! And we get Flora as a bonus, which is so fun! Thank you for the video of the Witche’s mansion! I love how “earthy” this all looks! Betchi really has been around the world, hasn’t he? I couldn’t remember if this was the slug man’s behelit or the Fief lord’s? I thought it was the other, but either way – the fact that Puck “knows his favorite food is cheese” – I don’t know what to do with that! Haha! That’s so neat to know that about the church! Thank you for that information! I would love to visit it as well! Yes, this was a much better read for me after my vacation! And yes, it’s definitely the connection to reality that makes me have cases of “the grumbles” with some of Miura’s decisions. I’m at least on board with the Star Wars references! With chapter 83 it explains a lot how this world works. We meet Schierke and Flora! I love their home and someone made an animation of how it looks. There are no spoilers here, it’s just a model. Then this little one eyed peg legged man stole me and kept me on a pillow in a secret room for 7 yrs! Then I was manhandled and I saw my old owner again who used me to see the 5 angels. I was then acquired by another one eyed guy, this time with a metal arm. He put me in his man bag were I’ve been for 3 yrs! I have a roommate now who uses me as a body pillow. My roommate is a bit flighty but he feeds me cheese, so I put up with him. I have no idea who my true owner is right now! I’m a sucker for a good aged cheese though…. The church is a real church! I’d love to visit it! I’m so glad that this was a better read for you! I think so many people hold this story up as top tier because they connect emotionally to it. It means so much to so many people. It’s true that it’s not perfect and yes, it has things in it that frustrate the daylights out of me, I find it more true to real life unfortunately. So many times I have been disappointed in how things are in the world, instead of how I would like them to be. I don’t know if I’m communicating this properly since I got personal last volume. We as readers have suffered along with Guts and the characters in this story. We aren’t to the end so let’s see how the rest of the story goes. Yes, Puck was Yoda in this volume as well….
