Puella Magi Madoka Magica: Episode 12 FULL LENGTH Reaction!

 *OMNIPOTENT HEADPHONE WARNINGS*

This SERIES! Oh my god, it just is SOLID and there are NO complaints from this reactor, that's for sure! I was so nervous with this finale, but despite any bittersweet feelings, I should have known I was in good hands -- now, ONTO THE MOVIE!

Puella Magi Madoka Magica: Episode 12 FULL LENGTH Reaction!

YES, I love that while Homura's multiple attempts DID the damage of making Madoka the strongest witch (bad), it also gave Madoka an understanding enough to make the right wish (good) - THE BALANCE! I love it! Thank you so much for the comment and putting that out there here!

Homura is the definition of DEVOTION in this series, that's for sure! And YES, I'm so glad I could see NGE first to truly appreciate the references! And yes, I can combine scenes from EofE and Sailor Moon for that scene of them together in "space." :P I am SO hyped for the Madoka movie tomorrow -- but that's all I will say. :) Thank you for the comment and kind words and I hope you enjoy!

What I love about this ending, is that Homura's journey is not only useful purely to increase the weight of Madoka's karmic destiny, it is crucial for Madoka to grow enough as a character to have enough information to have the idea of her wish. In the very first timeline, she didn't know Magical Girls literally became the soul gem, she didn't know the secrets surrounding witches and she wasn't even close to suspecting the motivation of the incubators. However, Homura with each new try, has been slowly convincing Madoka not to turn into a Magical Girl, a little bit later each time. In response, Kyubey was forced to reveal more and more to Madoka (in an attempt to convince her) with each new timeline, up until our current one where he went as far as to show her many past magical girls living through the cycle of hope and despair. That's ONLY because Homura kept her from transforming early that she could mature and make a wish that was really worth her soul.

Has anyone ever loved anyone as much as Homura loves Madoka? I'm glad you watched this after Evangelion so you could see the influence. The two of them hanging out naked together beyond space and time is very similar to that sequence in End of Eva where Shinji and Rei do the same thing, and decide the fate of the world . This is one of the few Eva inspired anime that actually measures up to the original. I never watched the Eva rebuilds until you did and I haven't actually seen the Madoka movie, so we'll see how next week goes, thanks! Edit: Also, I like that at the end Kyubey isn't really a bad guy anymore, but he's still a huge asshole.
