Okay, y'all, I'm past the Denial and Depression stage of grief with Berserk, but I've entered my Bargaining/Anger era in this volume because...Miura...you were SO close to a perfectly fantastic volume! SO. CLOSE.
80% of this volume was so fantastic with Schierke, the "battle" to save this village from the threat of the trolls and...other...monsters! It was so much fun! And then, because Miura cannot let us go without nonsense...well...let's just say Romania is done with mincing words about decisions made by this mangaka! Still, though, loved this volume, overall!

Oh, I don’t usually get political because I don’t want to target anyone, but to say I’m terrified about the state of certain things is…ahem, an understatement. So yes, I know what you mean! I do love that Schierke connects the moment to her own anger – I agree, it’s…clunky at best, but at least it does give us that Schierke moment, so in hindsight, I can’t be *too* irritated at it; I just love Schierke and her character so far! YES, that was exactly my thought about the Qliphoth moment with the “face hugger” potential – it would have been even MORE horrific because those creatures don’t discriminate – everyone is at risk! Just…didn’t think we needed a double-spread. At this point, it really feels like Miura just wants to draw naked women getting assaulted rather than show a horror scene and it’s tiring for me, personally. BUT, glad this is hopefully the last of the nonsense. Thank you for the info on Qliphoth! That’s very interesting! And about the Golems and elementals as well! I honestly love the grotesqueness and uniqueness of the creatures in Qliphoth – Miura, THAT would have been enough to be creepy enough! It honestly doesn’t “bother” me – I was excited by how creepy and gross THOSE creatures are - they would have been enough. And yes! I noted in the discussion/reaction the Stalk/Star Wars reference – or rather, I noted it when it killed Gaston back in the episode and manga reaction for that Eclipse moment. Not that I expect you all to remember back that far in my reactions, though, haha!! YES, those silver shirts need to stay on! I definitely agree Morgan had a major impact on Isidro! But yes, TALLY HO to Volume 26!

I love this! Some of your story ideas I was like 👀. One line stands out to me,” Sending people to their death in the name of God.” …… Texas. 😡I really am getting worried about my state and the state of the nation. As an educator yourself, I hope you understand what I’m getting at. I’m just glad this priest wasn’t such a jerk and was willing to cooperate in the end. The fall: I get what you are saying. It does look like they are just yeeted off the roof. To me, it looks like Schierke was swaying so much she bumped into Farnese. Casca was in back of her so was then bumped off the crumbling roof with Farnese. Is it kinda clunky? Yeah. This is another reason why Schierke blames herself for having to go search for them. She caused them to fall and the village to be destroyed because of her anger. As a horror fan, and a woman, Qliphoth actually does not disturb me as much as it did you. This is when I have asked myself if I’m just screwed up in the head, or if I’m just a die hard horror fan. I’ve seen some twisted crap. Desensitized maybe? When I first read it, at this point, I was thinking “Alien.” It reminded me of that. Is it necessary? Well, no. It is horrific though. I like your idea about the men being impregnated, that would actually be more horrific if it was done that way. I mentioned Alien and in that movie, the face hugger does not discriminate with the impregnating. True horror right there! So what is Qliphoth? Of course Golems themselves were mud monsters made alive by ritual and Hebrew letters acting as a charm. Qliphoth fauna: I love love love it! As a career, I was going to pursue marine biology. It didn’t pan out that way do to things….. the creatures depicted are a mix of real and made up animals. I see, squid, rays, armored centipedes, sea spider like creatures, mushrooms, isopods and my favorite, Daphnia with a skeletal structure. Isidro, he was feeling pretty useless, but he wasn’t left behind. I also love Morgan! I think he had more of an affect on Isidro than he realized. Serpico having to trust Guts, a man he wants to murder. I think they make a great team. Schierke, a shaky start, but that girl is op!
