Favorite Boys Love/Girls Love Series?

It's JanuYaoi in July! Just kidding, but I'm looking ahead at some series that could possibly be on the block for "Romania's Choice" Fridays after I'm finished with Uramichi Oniisan!
I'm looking for LEGIT Boys Love/Yaoi or Girls Love/Yuri series to possibly watch and preferably something in that 11-13 episode range -- I know, perhaps a difficult range!

One of the few yuris to take it seriously instead of just being fanservicey porn for a male demographic like most other yuris. It's also one of the only series I've seen that tackles aromanticism/asexuality in a really interesting and realistic way. It was very eye opening and personal for me as I discovered a lot about myself that I didn't realize until watching this series. I would heavily recommend this series.

I'd love for you to watch Junjou Romantica but it's three seasons and it really should be followed with Sekaiichi Hatsukoi. Gravitation might be a good one for you to watch - it's pretty much the first BL that was a series, not a couple of OVAs. Cherry Magic is cute and wholesome, same with Tadaima, Okaeri but... I didn't find any of the characters to be all that interesting.

2024-07-05 23:47:19 +0000 UTCNot an anime, but Shimanami Tasogare (Our Dreams At Dusk) is an absolutely fantastic LGBT manga. Explicit gay rep, lesbian rep, trans rep, ace rep, and also gorgeous art and amazing plot. It's also only 23 chapters.

Of course, you could make the argument that it's better to wait until we know for sure that it's a good adaptation (which would be fair), but I wanted to at least name drop it for anyone unaware that a new BL anime has begun.
