Natsume Yujin-cho: Episode 13 FULL LENGTH Reaction!

*BANQUET OF HEADPHONE WARNINGS*

It's the Season One finale, and this was all I could ask for with Natsume's Book of Friends! I LOVED the wholesome "gathering" of everyone together, as Natsume realizes one of his friends...figures out Madara is a Yokai!

I have loved this series and I'm SO stoked for season two!
More Natsume Yujin-cho, PLEASE!

Natsume Yujin-cho: Episode 13 FULL LENGTH Reaction!

Comments

Thank you so much for the comment and kind words!! I love how we're growing along with Natsume in how these yokai are perceived! Tanuma is so sweet and understanding as well -- and yes, he CAN get protective of Natsume, which I am all for! I am also glad the little fox is in this episode -- their design is SO cute! I cannot stand how some of the yokai bully them! And awwww, that way you describe the fireworks affecting Natsume is so sweet! That is a good point about him as well, there. I really have come to love this show and it's kind of addictive with how the tone is that you just WANT to watch it for its soothing quality! Thank you for the comment and kind words -- ONTO SEASON 2 next week!!! :D

Loved the reaction & discussion! This is one of the sweetest episodes and I absolutely love its construction. The way it essentially consolidates the characters, the core relationship interplay among loads of them, the different examples of how people are able to perceive yokai (or not). I mean, even just that scene of the Little Fox arriving and the show continuously switching in how he’s perceived! Masterful. I adore Tanuma πŸ₯° – as you said he has a very gentle and understanding manner (e.g. acknowledging Natsume not wanting to talk about something), but there is a specific streak of protectiveness, as well (trying to defend Natsume against Madara πŸ˜†). A particular strength or certainty to his kindness – legitimately, my favourite type of human being. And the Little Fox is back! πŸ₯° The show has me so attached with his design – any time someone as much as looks at him wrong I get the knife out. πŸ˜† In terms of Natsume’s character, I think that scene with the fireworks is one of the most important to me in S1. Natsume not needing to see the fireworks because he sees the joy they bring to someone else – but also, it not occurring to him to look out for himself even with something so small, needing to have Tanuma notice and present a β€˜solution.’ Watching you get into the show and its particular pacing has been a continuous delight across this season πŸ₯°. Looking forward to next week and the manga review! πŸ’™
