This series has always had amazing laughs with a slap of existential dread, but the "Rule of 8" leads us to a full on GUT PUNCH of existential depression as we learn a very intimate detail of Uramichi's past, casually tossed to us at a family mall event...the hilarity was on point this episode, but the tragic realness...it nearly got me crying, y'all! Isn't this supposed to be a COMEDY?!

Thank you so much for the comment and kind words! The Rule of 8 did not let us down! And yes, it's SO sad to see him just wanting to disassociate from reality and to see him struggling and trying to work through his trauma -- that's a great note about it being context and not just "drama." This episode really made me take a step back and go, "oh." I am excited for the rest of the show!! This episode definitely made it go a notch deeper!

Rule of 8 β yet again does not disappoint. π Uramichi seems to so often be just a step or a sentence away from disassociating β it is actually heartbreaking. And I think the show handles is really well β the way is affects Uramichi, how he tries to handle it, how some notice and others donβt, and how within the show it is context not drama. Looking forward to next week! π
