Wow, what a ways our boy Rei has come since Episode 1 to now, and we're just STARTING season 2! He has new friends, an "actual" high school experience developing, and seems to be growing as a person instead of his stagnation at the start of the series!
We obviously have a WAYS to go, but this was a heartwarming and hilarious start to season 2! Huzzah! Let's talk about it!

Yessss, that is SUCH a good point! Rei *wanting* to go to them and talk about his day and opening up to the sisters instead of bottling and spiraling is such a moment of growth for him, even if it seems so small and natural! I definitely agree it may be a while before he opens up about any negative feelings he has, this is definitely a great step for him! I really love how we’re watching Rei grow slowly but surely over the course of the show! And yeah – I agree – when things are going well like this, you do get nervous that something is going to come along to muck things up! Thank you so much for the comment and kind words!

2024-08-13 12:31:12 +0000 UTCI think the part that really showed me Rei's growth was the last part of the episode when he says he wants to tell Hina and the rest of the sisters all about the day he had in the club. From the begging of the first season he always kept everything bottled up when he began to have negative thoughts he would just lock himself away and spiral into an even worse mindset. Even when he won or something positive happened he would never talk about them to the sisters. Him wanting to talk about his day and what happened is huge for him. Although I doubt he would want to talk abut the negative aspects of his life so openly with them at this time this is a good first step. Being able to show more of himself to them can hopefully be another step for Rei in dealing with the issues he has. I'm a first time watcher of this show and like you i'm starting to get nervous that something bad is going to happen too, everything is too nice lol.
