This series needs to stop nearly making me cry! Haha, this episode had (as per usual) a ton of heart, but we also got some more - important - information on Rei's character and some of the motivations behind her "antics!" This was such a great episode, so let's talk about it!

Ahh, thank you so much! This episode was so cute with the yokai and their relationship with Reiko, particularly Hinoe! That’s an excellent point about Natsume and the people he surrounds himself with and who is the influencer and who is the influenced…or if they all are each other! And yeah, Madara would NEVER admit he’s helpful or influenced by Natsume, haha!! Hinoe and Madara are such bosom buddies at this point! And YES, that’s also a great point to bring up about creativity and making “lemonade” out of lemons despite the scenario they’re involved in! I think that’s such a good point to bring up and I’ll have to mention it (down the road ;) ) in a future episode! Thank you so much for the comment and kind words!

Wonderful episode – we get even more cute yokai and Hinoe/Reiko flashbacks. 🥰 I’m really enjoying the Reiko & Natsume analysis in discussions. To me it links to one of the things I adore most about the show - how much of it is about kindness, examining it and the different shapes it can take, whether it is in intentions or execution or both. The way Natsume goes about it is so different to how Reiko does. Everyone else around Natsume helping – how much of that is his influence or who he surrounds himself with? The way Madara helps and attempts to deny it. 😂 Love Hinoe and Madara interactions! I think this episode also has an overarching theme of – someone supporting another in breaking away from the constraints of their reality. Real or imposed or imagined. The way Kirinoha ‘cannot leave the forest’ but longs for something else, doesn’t see how that would be possible at all, it isn’t in Kirinoha’s ‘nature’ – “those born in a forest shouldn’t leave.” But Reiko sees how and creates this convoluted scenario where it could happen and then Natsume is able to decode it. Cannot wait for next week! 💙
