I didn't expect to really want more from this storyline, but this episode set expanded on these characters that I wanted to keep seeing more of -- and seeing Cheng Xiaoshi and Lu Guang developing their relationship was so brilliant!
Oh, and no big deal...but Qiao Ling's suspicions may be reaching their breaking point with her brother and his..."friend."

I really enjoyed this arc so much! And yes, having an original arc with CX and LG getting to be more "boyfriends" throughout this was really good, I completely agree! And yessss, CX is SO empathetic that of course he would be happy helping Red Bean to fulfill her wish! I also like how we now have QL involved -- it's tying nicely into the donghua with it starting out with her aware as well. HONESTLY, YES, all of these actors -- when they "act" like CX is possessing them, they just NAIL it. I'm always impressed with how this series manages to pull it off! And yes, this arc about developing the trust between LG and CX! And then that ENTIRE drama with He Xu! He's SO suspicious and LG has rights, I feel, to be wary of him...maybe it'll all be a red herring, but I don't know! And YES, I 100% agree that now that we're steering from the donghua, it'll be neat to see what the series chooses to do! Thank you so much for the comment and kind words! After having a couple of arcs directly from the donghua it was super nice to have this original arc where we can see CX and LG coming together more! And, well, LG and CX were *really* giving boyfriends’ vibes through this last set of episodes XD just saying. A little moment I really liked was CX being happy that they managed to help Red Bean fulfill her final wish and finding solace on that this time around; it’s nice seeing how he readily accepted it after how spectacularly he blows up after the Chen Xiao arc. I can’t quite believe that QL knows now, though. I mean, I like it but it still surprised me. How they made her believe it though was really cool. For a second there, I thought she had being possessed herself but it was a little more straightforward than that. The actor playing Zhen Zhen really blew it out of the park, though. When he enters Shuan Hai’s house to talk to him, being possessed by CX, I could IMMEDIATELY tell he was acting strange but couldn’t understand what’s going on, why is he acting so weird until near the end of it; it was great acting. And, well, I enjoyed the little convoluted mess they make there XD Really, I just think this arc works so well. The first couple of arcs established WHAT is going on, how their powers work and what’s to be their dynamic in all of this. This arc was developing the trust that was created and playing a bit with what they can do, exploring it if you will. It was a lot of fun to see! Oh! And how can I forget the He Xu/Cheng Xiaoshi/Lu Guang dinner extravaganza, that was quite the awkward encounter. Honestly, though, He Xu only becomes more and more suspicious with everything he does and I’m firmly on LG’s side. I hope LG doesn’t lower his guard. Now that we’ve started deviating from the donghua, I can’t wait to see what’s next in store for us.
