March Comes in Like a Lion // 3-Gatsu no Lion: Episode 25 FULL LENGTH Reaction!

**SUMMERTIME SADNESS HEADPHONE WARNINGS**

I'm so glad we've gotten a few episodes of Rei in a good place, because Y'ALL. Getting flashbacks of Rei struggling with bullies and then the possibility that HINA might have been bullied?! Oh, hell no! *cracks knuckles*

We still need some more information next week (and I'm not sure I can wait), but this week was filled with heart and humor as always -- and apparently, Kumakura has a HUGE....pair of feet! ;)

This episode gave me the most ominous feeling! Like you said, because Hina is such a sweetheart, it makes it hurt all the more when SHE is the one getting bullied! But yes, what a time for Rei! I’m so curious to see where this will go for his character! Season 2 did not come to play! I agree, the mom could have balanced that relationship and those duties out! That’s a great way of putting it! I can see that maybe “entitled” is more the word to use than “lazy,” that’s a good point – and the mom created that environment and it just discouraged them. These parents unknowingly creating this toxicity - what the heck, fam?! And now, Ayumu and Kyouko might be old enough to see that how they treated Rei was wrong…they don’t want to back peddle on their past. *tears at hair* But yeah, with the exception of Hayashida and Shimada (particularly), Rei really has been failed by a lot of the adults he grew up around. Luckily, Rei might be in a better place to offer Hina some help – we just gotta see, but I will say, this next episode is HARD.

Oh, this episode made me sad in the end! Hina being so sad is the WORST and I think that her being very bubbly and expressive most of the time makes the impact of seeing her so sad ten times worse. I agree, it’ll be very interesting seeing Rei having to deal with a situation like this from the other side now. A great moment for growth; but, also just a good moment to connect and heal. After the first two episodes of a happier Rei, more settled on his own skin and wiser, getting this sadder episode felt like a sucker punch, though. Though finally meeting Mama Koda was interesting. I agree, I think the mom handled the whole situation with Kyouko and Ayumu not wanting to help around the house and do the things she asked them badly, and this naturally lead to sore feelings towards Rei. Yeah, she should have made the kids do what she was telling them and balanced that relationship out. That being said, and I can’t believe I’m about to say this, I don’t think Kyouko and Ayumu were just being lazy. Like, yes, definitely there was a lot of entitlement going around there and the Kida kids were pulling the “we’re the biological children” really hard, but I also can see the mom creating this environment of “Rei is so good at everything he does” (much like Koda did with shogi) that really hurt their feelings and discouraged them from wanting to do anything; sort of “if Rei is so good at helping around why should we even try” and add to them probably truly feeling their parents liked Rei best and you have a very toxic situation going on. Mostly, I think this is proof that adults really failed Rei when he was little, as the Koda parents couldn’t balance their own family and then just never dealt with how their actions affected the three children that lived with them. Again, I do agree that Kyouko and Ayumu were being spoiled and not acting their best, specially as they grew older and could see how their actions were wrong. At least Hina has a real support network to help her out with her problems <3
